"If you love a peaceful country retreat then this is for you. Wildlife all around. The owner could not be more helpful. Peacocks at the back door herds of dear and flocks of amazing rheas much better than advertised. You do need a car with good clearance for the track through the forest but it's worth it as it all ads to the amazing adventure. Thank you once again to our host Martin who meets guests at the gate to lead you through the forest."

"We instantly felt at home in this holiday house – and so did our dogs! Everything was super clean, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed - and much more. The fully fenced garden was a big plus, so our dogs could run around freely. There were even bowls, towels, and some treats for the dogs (and also for us)– such a thoughtful touch! The hosts were really friendly, helpful, and always easy to reach. For us, it was a perfect stay and we can recommend this place to anyone looking for a...

Top East Sussex Hotel Reviews

The Lookout Rye

8/10 Good

"Overall cleanliness was good but the room we had needed some maintenance doing in the bathroom, shower was rubbish with no pressure and you couldn’t fully turn it off. Staff were very nice and the breakfast was good."

Cavendish Hotel

8/10 Good

"Good hotel, ideal location near the pier and overlooking the sea, although not all rooms have a sea view. Room was a good size as was the bathroom. The car park worked for us but it is not monitored for security. We didn't eat in the hotel as there are many alternatives in Terminus road a short stroll away. Staff were helpful and efficient."

Majestic Hotel Eastbourne by Belvilla

10/10 Excellent

"Great service from the reception staff. The rooms were very clean and surprisingly large. It was nice to have the sea view. The only downside for us was the lack of parking nearby. It was very hit and miss on getting a spot near the hotel and with a disabled traveller in our group we needed this. If you don't mind the parking issue then this is a great value for money place to stay."

The George in Rye

10/10 Excellent

"A very design-forward boutique hotel in charming Rye. It looks recently renovated with a modern look while staying true to the character of a cosy coaching inn. The included breakfast was superb (you can choose from a selection of hot breakfast dishes as well as the included continental breakfast buffet), and I loved the iPad coffee tap! The only downside was a wedding over the weekend I stayed, which you could hear, but it wasn't too bad so I would overall still recommend!"
