My son found this hotel, but forwarded the link to me to book and pay for our two rooms as he was busy in his office in London.
My son later sent me a message saying that he was having to bring his dog with him, but it was ok as he had contacted both The Brace of Pheasant and also the sailing company we were due to sail with the next day re his dog.
I arrived first coming from a different direction to that of my son. However, I was an hour later than I had expected due to a road being closed on route, plus, having difficulties finding this accommodation.
The gentleman who showed me to the rooms I had booked became annoyed with me when I said that I was not the one with the dog !
He said they didn’t have dogs in the rooms there, I explained that my son had informed me, after I had booked, that he had phoned and been told this was ok, and that was unhappy with his manner towards me over this, and that he would have to speak to my son when he arrived.
He later told my son the dog would have to sleep in the car overnight, my son told him fine, but nobody in the area would get any sleep as the dog would bark all night, the dog did then sleep in his room with him without any problems. I later found out this place does have one room only where a dog can sleep, but that this was already booked prior to our visit. A pretty old pub, not in my opinion very good for anybody with movement difficulties, also is a very remote location, that said, it’s peaceful.
