"A nice quiet hotel away from noisy traffic."
We chose this hotel as it was in the centre of lovely golf course far away from the hustle and bustle of a noisy seaside town.It was ideally situated enabling us to visit Datmouth,Torquay,Paington and many other places of interest. It was then nice to return to the hotel to use the leisure facilities and then enjoy a nice evening meal.

"Great golf, nice hotel but NO WIFI"
This hotel has potential to be exceptional if only they can brush up on a couple of key factors. Reception and wifi. The golf, rooms, food and general hotel ambience is superb. What lets it down is that there is no wifi which when questioned was told it is terrible and there is a desktop in reception that can be used. On advising a rather uninspiring and uninterested reception desk they did not care and when asked for the manager to write to for feedback they said he rarely opens his e mails so if you want a response to write to reception. Mmm but if you are also not happy with reception?

"Beautiful surroundings. Room was clean and warm. "
Staff were helpful. Parking during the day was an issue as golfers used the hotel car park, despite having a separate car park a short distance away. Breakfast on the second day was delicious, but first day was a very long time coming and cold. We also had a bar snack and the chips were the best I have ever tasted.

"A relaxing place to stay"
Just spent a few days at the Langstone, very pleasant, lovely sea view from the room and a balcony. Food was good, loved the plastic bowl and cutlery set that was provided at meal times for my grandson. Also a great indoor playroom for the little ones. Nice indoor and outdoor pools and separate ones for toddlers. A variety of different lounges to relax or eat in. Staff were very helpful, room service was good too.

"Beautiful view and pretty room."
Pleasantly surprised to find the room had recently been refurbished and looked lovely. However the room hadn't been properly prepared as essential items were missing such as one dressing gown and slippers, iron, hotel information, breakfast order card, number for reception etc. The mattress on one of the pushed together beds was of the poorest quality...just cloth over the springs. After a very uncomfortable 1st night I asked for this to be changed which it was. When breakfast arrived in our room next day the orange juice was missing and white toast came instead of the brown ordered. I listed these issues on the feedback card but did not receive an apology or acknowledgement never mind a complimentary drink or something to make amends. Think there is room for improvement in terms of customer service and just getting the basics right. Also although free wifi is advertised it does not reach some of the rooms including ours.

"Great apartment with everything you could want."
A well equipped apartment that has everything you could need, with a real feel of your very own home. The owners were amazing. Very welcoming, approachable and always wanting to improve on their service. The only disappointment was the abuse of profanities I recieved off an on site 'builder' (I use the term builder lightly). For simply raising concerns of him building less than a meter away from my car causing a light scratch, even more so disappointed to see him on site the very next day. Other than this appletorre is a great place to stay at and would highly recommend for any age or person.

Pocket Guide: Golf Hotels in Devon

If you're coming to Devon to play golf then it makes sense to stay in one of the county's first-rate golf hotels. Golf hotels in Devon have everything you need as a golfer to make great use of your limited time, both on and off the course. There are many fine golf courses in Devon and plenty of excellent hotels close by that make special provision for golfing enthusiasts.

    Devon Golf Hotels near Courses

The idea behind booking a golf hotel in Devon, rather than a regular hotel in the centre of Plymouth or Exeter for example is that you'll be within closer proximity of a good course as well as conveniently near the local attractions. Even the most passionate golf enthusiast won't be playing all the time, and it's good to know that close by there are plenty of other things to see and do. Devon has excellent transport links by road and rail, and once you've settled on an area and a course it will be a quick and easy matter to get to the coast, Dartmoor, Exeter or anywhere else you want to be.

There are lots of brilliant golf courses in Devon, from Saunton and Thurlestone to Bovey Castle and Teignmouth, so the possibilities are endless for improving your game or just having some relaxing fun in the great outdoors. Choosing a good golf hotel in these locations will make your life a whole lot easier and simpler, allowing you to concentrate on your game rather than spend hours getting to the course and back again.

Devon Hotels for the Golfing Life

Deciding on a golfing break in Devon doesn't entail any extra work, as all you have to do is make the booking as usual and then show up at your hotel. Many holiday companies in Devon have connections with regional bodies that promote tourism in the county, and many packages include accommodation at a local golf hotel. A golf hotel in Devon is effectively a one-stop-shop that supplies you with the environment and access to equipment that you need to enjoy a great break here.
