"Accommodation was good. Very clean and spacious the only downside was the lighting in the room was very poor. For some reason we were placed in a disabled room so everything was very low. As we were only staying one night we did not ask to be moved. The sink in the bathroom had no plug and was very lowdown we are tall people so it made washing a bit difficult. There was no light near the mirror so was very difficult to blow my hair or put makeup on as the lighting was very dim. The room was quite dark Bed was very comfy and the room was very warm. Continental breakfast was good. Parking was great. Would use hotel again only hope they sort the lighting out. We were one of a group of six and we all said the rooms were dark and lights very dim. "Stayed here for a wedding as a family of four. Very nice room, a little bit on the expensive side but weighing up a taxi home 40 miles and breakfast it worked out about the same. Breakfast was very good. The drinks at the bar were a bit on the expensive side at £8 a pint but what can you do "

"Great hotel for a great price. Dog friendly but if you don't have dogs, don't worry, there is absolutely no sign dogs have ever been in the rooms, no lingering dog smells etc. I've stayed here twice and on the second stay was in a room facing the road. I'm a light sleeper but wasn't woken by the traffic at all. There's no Aircon in the rooms but you are provided with a fan so be aware if you run hot. Facilities are brilliant and the free cake each afternoon is a nice added extra. Staff are all lovely and happy to help with anything. Breakfast is very nice but be aware that there's no full English but you do get eggs, beans and bacon. Location is good and just a short drive from Derwent dam and Castleton. Would highly recommend this place and will be visiting again myself. "
