There was a communal space to sit and have food, bit disappointed bar down stairs was closed ,but not in full season so not major issue. One recommendation is to swap the wood framed bed for a divan based, Badly injured my knee stepping down into the room hitting knee on bed frame as so close to step, this could have been avoided if was a divan which would also give bit more space in room. staff member was present when it happened and informed staff member on check out. Over all nice property great value for money and clean and functional."

"The Northern is a lovely hotel, rooms clean, plenty of storage, toiletries, kettle & TV. We had dinner one night of our 2 night stay, food was delicious. We had breakfast one morning, I had full vegetarian breakfast, my friend full Scottish, both delicious & filling!"
