It is easily reached by foot from train station and is in the city centre. Good value
Excellent staff and service. Comfortable bed and good breakfast. House toiletries not that great.
Was upgraded to suite which was superb. Friendly, efficient service. Located immediately next to Sheffield City Hall which we were visiting for an event. Price very competitive.
Amazing experience, I will recommend the place to all my friends and relatives and I would love to stay there again
It was my third stay at The Novotel Hotel Sheffield and everything came up to my expectations. Staff were amazing.
Good location and modern room for reasonable price.
Pre-booked in to the nearby Moor Car Park, but then had car park token validated by hotel (who apparently have an agreement with the Car Park owners) when we booked out - it cost me an additional £14.00 to leave the car park after my two day stay !!
Outstanding breakfast, poor business center. Good fitness center, although one of the machines was out of order. Helpful and friendly staff. Great air conditioning in common areas; average to good air conditioning in rooms.
Who needs airconditioning at this day and age me and my girlfriend enjoy the warm heatwave conditions our room. As we both are old. The heat did us loads of good. Felt like we were in lovely Pakistan. Ignore the moaners about the heat in the room, There all light weights.
The magical county of South Yorkshire is home to a diverse array of attractions, appealing to holidaymakers of all persuasions. From the dizzying heights of the Peak District to the cultural charms of Sheffield, there really is something for everyone. When it comes to culture in Sheffield, there are few better known sites than the Crucible Theatre. Located in the city centre, the theatre has become an iconic venue, as well as a place to catch all your favourite plays and sporting events. There are also plenty of exquisite hotels nearby.
The Crucible Theatre was built in 1971 to serve as a replacement for the well-loved Playhouse Repertory Theatre on Townhead Street in the centre of Sheffield. Originally built as a place for theatre, the space has since developed into a lively and vibrant multi-purpose venue. In addition to music, arts and drama, the Crucible also hosts sporting events. None is more famous than the World Championship of snooker - the sport's premier event.
Despite the Crucible's fame and its calendar of prestigious events, it remains a relatively intimate venue. The main room has space for 980 audience members, though the 3-sided seating layout makes it possible for everyone to enjoy an excellent view. There's also a smaller studio theatre inside the building, and a café for interval refreshments.
Sheffield is the county's main city, which means it is home to many of the best guesthouses and hotels in South Yorkshire. Whether your choice is modern, facility-rich branded hotels or charming, family-run bed and breakfasts, you're sure to find something to your taste close to the Crucible Theatre.
Mercure Sheffield St. Paul's Hotel and Spa is just metres from the theatre, and promises guests a long list of luxurious facilities. In addition to the delightful spa, there's an indoor swimming pool, health club and bar.
Similarly close to the Crucible Theatre but in the other direction is the Best Western Cutler's Hotel. Guests can rely on the well-known brand for a valuable blend of comfort and value.
