"We were allowed to check in before 3.00pm as we arrived early. The room was clean but very dated and the furniture was old and shabby. The room carper was threadbare in places. Shower was OK once we got it work. The whole building looked tired and in need of alot if work. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast where they were polite, attentive and very efficient. The breakfast was very good with a range of hot and cold offerings. The parking in the hotel was ideal and its location to the centre of Harrogate is only 5 minutes walk. Generally we enjoyed the stay but will look to book other hotels next time we are in Harrogate."

"Took 20 minutes to check in, 15 minutes to check out - need better technology for sure. Breakfast was very disappointing - have breakfast over the road at Bettys opens at 9. Beware when you ask for bottled water - it’s not what you think - it’s from a tap water filter machine decanted into a washed up bottle- they don’t tell you that!"

"The old swan is central for the pump room,valley park and near to Betty's tearoom and the shops. Breakfast was excellent. Pity the lift was temporarily broken,had to use stairs."
