"Comfortable stay"
good sized comfortable room and a most pleasant guy checked me in. 3 quite minor gripes.... - the room didn't have a mirror to shave. - there was no tv remote - cleaner needs to check more - room perfectly clean but there was a empty salad dressing bottle in bedside drawer and an old t-shirt in bottom or wardrobe. None of these factors would deter me for recommending. btw there is no hot breakfast available

"Good central location"
You are allowed to drive down to Cleveland Corner to unpack your luggage but then you must put your car back up the steep hill in the main car park, so be organised about packing so as not to leave things you need in the car. It is quite a climb! We really enjoyed our stay at Cleveland Corner, the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The two rooms are up steep stairs behind the bistro/shop. Comfortable double bed and well designed en suite. Seagulls make quite a din but that is all part of being by the sea. The food in the bistro was really delicious and imaginative. Not cheap, but really recommend it. The location of Cleveland Corner is ideal, everything you want to right there. We will certainly return.

"Nice hotel, handy for Whitby and Runswick Bay"
Visiting the area for the North Yorkshire Triumph Weekend in Runswick Bay, and found the Grapes Hotel on Expedia. Got a good welcome from Mark, mine host. Nice area, just opposite Scaling Dam, and it was surprisingly free of intrusive noise considering it's proximity to a main road into Whitby. Room was good - nice firm bed; en suite with a view over Scaling Dam. Only minor niggle was the TV - could usefully be a slightly bigger screen for my tired eyes. Great breakfast - just managed to clear my plate. Next year, it would be brill if Mark advertised with the NYTW guys so that more Triumph owners might stay. Getting a taxi back from the Saturday night party was a bit pricey due to it having to come from Whitby, so opportunities to share the ride would be very convenient.

"Thank you!!"
I was working away til late - 11pm. I was given email and text instruction on how to gain access to the property. I got in, watched a bit of match of the day quietly and fell asleep. The room was ample for my needs. I slept in til 8.15, got a shower in the shower room (i didn't book en suite) . On the way back out, I thought to myself they have the best parking facilities ever of anywhere I've stayed!!!. Next time I'm working in Stockton Kingswood Guest House will be my go to place to stay. It's near the centre and really close to Middlesborough too. I had a great sleep, felt really well rested and was on my way south for another days work.

"Not your standardised boring 'travel' hotel"
In Hartlepool for one night (Saturday) to attend a family Christening. Plenty of parking available but could hear very loud music coming from a wedding party downstairs. We couldn't hear any of it from our very spacious room on the 2nd floor. Very clean & comfortable room with en-suite bathroom. The staff at the hotel are all friendly & professional. We had a slight problem when checking in as the system said 'room only' -luckily we had printed off the Expedia booking confirmation that said breakfast included so they accepted that. The breakfast choice was excellent & served in a lovely dining room. Unfortunately the cooked part of it was not good -I think it was ready at 7a.m. (apart from the eggs) and we ate at 9 so it was overcooked & nearly inedible. If they can find a chef who can cook a good breakfast this would be an excellent place to stay.
