Lovely hotel excellent value for money with half board, big room withe a bay window. the only thing I would say is that in the room we were in could have done with a mirror above the dressing table. My parents room was with twin beds, looked like a small room but each bed was 4 foot wide. Everyone had a sound sleep, a good breakfast and a good evening meal of which was hot. Staff very nice, friendly and helpful. Would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful grounds accessed from the bar/rear of restaurant area - literally step outside and there they are. 10-15 minutes walk from the front of the hotel takes you into Sandsend, lovely village. Walk in the opposite direction takes you to Whitby, can walk or take car. Reception asked what our plans were each day, gave us parking disc for Whitby...gives you 3 hours in designated areas..perfect. Lovely hotel for a break that can be as relaxing or busy as you want it to be.

This place is a HUGE hidden gem! From start to finish, the service, staff, spa, value for money, everything was fantastic! We have stayed in many many hotels in the UK and this hotel has to be our favourite. The secret garden spa for an extra £25pp is worth every penny! We stayed in Tiplady 4 and it was perfect sitting outside as it was south facing so ordered a bottle of wine and nibbles before going to Nu Sana for an evening meal. Gorgeous looking hotel. Already lovely but excited to see it when their plans to gain a 4th star come to fruition. My only qualms are rather thin walls to the next bathroom (you can hear the next rooms shower power unit) and the ventilation (weather was low 20s but room got full sun and with no air con it was very hot, even with windows fully open). Otherwise, tasteful decor, a really nice restaurant with super food and a beautiful location.

We stayed here as it was walking distance from the venue for a wedding we were attending. We booked it three nights before so only the bunk bed room was available, but it was fine for us as we were out all day long and then had to be back early the next morning!
