The Victorian pier stretches into the North Sea with classic amusement rides and Clacton Pavilion's water park nearby. Families enjoy the sandy beach while the seafront gardens offer peaceful walks away from the bustling arcades.
Considering the age of the property, dating from 1456, the rooms were beautifully modernised whilst keeping the original features. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and I honestly can’t fault anything. The only negative was the heat but nothing anyone could do about that!!!

The welcome could not have been friendlier, really lovely people. The station house building is a little 'creaky' but it's full of character and well appointed; it was really nice seeing the trains come and go and they did not disturb us at all. The view from the window was lovely with the sun rising over the river Deben, looking up to the ancient hills of Sutton Hoo. Breakfast was great! Full English (vegetarian), with loads of coffee and plenty of smiles.

We were greeted by variety with a lovely smile and helpful attitude and were asked if we wanted to go straight up to our room or would prefer a sit down and a drink first and as I had just driven for about an hour chose the latter took a look at the menu and also chose to have a...
