We would like to say a huge thank you to Matteo and team for well and truly exceeding all expectations for our stay. Their welcoming generosity and out of the box facilitation for our Wedding Day was truly appreciated, and we will remember it for the rest of our lives.
The whole experience of staying at this beautiful hotel last year is the reason we came back again this year, and also booking their partnered restaurant (which is incredible by the way, also a thank you to Debora and team at...

This place is a hidden gem in a typical Italian setting 5 minutes walk from Vezio Castle in the hills above Varenna ferry port.
Rita the host and Kirsty are the most helpful and friendliest people you could ever meet and absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them to do for you. The walk down to the ferry is quite steep on a cobbled trail but only takes 10 to 15 minutes and walking back up is a little more challenging especially after some wine and pasta down at the lovely restaurants in...

Great communications ahead of our stay, and every member of staff was friendly and helpful. I really cannot compliment them highly enough. We were even shown into the breakfast room early on our last day and were able to take a packed breakfast for our journey.
The breakfast was varied, and the restaurant was excellent in the evenings. The service and food were always excellent.
The setting is perfect, right on the lake.

Had the perfect stay at Hotel Garni Corona and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to come to Lake Como. In my opinion, it is in the best location with only a short walk to the ferry and bus stops. Not as busy as Bellagio or Varenna and proved to be the ideal base location. Plenty of restaurants, cafe’s and gelato spots right next to the hotel. Would highly recommend the room with the lake view!
Special mention to the lady at the reception who was so helpful and welcoming which was...

Just add a pool and it’s perfection although it already is. Staff was amazing and the room was the best for the price aswell. Could not ask for a better place to have had my proposal

Absolutely loved our stay here in Dervio easily the best and cleanest place we stayed during our tour of Northern Italy. The B&B had a great authentic Italian feel to it, full of character and charm rather than feeling overly modern or generic.
Location was perfect too, very easy to find, only a short walk from the train station, and then only a few minutes down to the waterfront and lake. Ideal base for exploring the area.

Good base to explore but set back a couple of streets from the lake from whence it takes its name. No lake views as a result. Breakfast was limited for us, but we are vegan. Staff able to provide soya milk. Overall. we had a fantastic time.

The view down Lake Como from our room (No.29) was nothing short of breath taking. The staff where very very helpful and in the main spoke English (if your Italian is limited) food was very nice and reasonably priced. If you are a keen cyclist they cater with their own bikes and a workshop area. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. A bed was provided for our 12 year old son as we requested, so catering for families doesn't present any issues. The Jersey Mob

We stayed at a really quiet time in January. The hotel and room were spotless and spacious and the hosts could not have been more welcoming. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I had an amazing experience at Al Molo 5. The breakfast with a beautiful lake view was truly unforgettable, and the hotel itself is super clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout my stay.
I recommend coming by car, as there isn’t much within walking distance, but the on-site restaurant is excellent — great food, very romantic atmosphere, and the whole area is quiet and peaceful. Overall, a wonderful place to relax. Highly recommended!

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location with amazing views over Lake Como.
We were allowed to drop our bags off as we arrived before check in. When we came back to check in our luggage had already been taken to our room. Rooms are spacious and modern and very clean and the view is amazing.
We had dinner first night and the food was great - especially the risotto!
We woke up the next day after a really bad storm and unfortunately the damage to the road outside was extensive. Land slide...

The best area to stay in Cheis is the historic town centre, particularly around Piazza Umberto I and along Via Roma.
This area is the heart of Cheis, known for its well-preserved medieval architecture and narrow, winding streets. Piazza Umberto I is the main square, often bustling with locals and visitors, and it's surrounded by cafes and shops. Via Roma is the primary thoroughfare, offering a selection of boutiques, restaurants, and local artisan shops. It's a very walkable area, making it easy to explore on foot.
Couples often find this area ideal for a romantic and relaxing trip. The historic centre provides a charming backdrop for strolls, with numerous intimate restaurants great for an evening out. The proximity to the Cheis Cathedral and the Castello Visconteo adds to the historical appeal, offering lovely spots for exploration.
For solo travellers, the historic centre offers convenience and a sense of community. With everything within walking distance – from museums to eateries – it's easy to navigate and find activities.
When is the best time to go to Cheis?
The best time to go to Cheis is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.
During these periods, the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter. The countryside around Cheis, particularly the vineyards and olive groves, is at its most picturesque, with spring blossoms or autumn colours.
For couples looking for a romantic getaway, these seasons offer great conditions for leisurely walks through the historic town centre, boat trips on Lake Como, and enjoying al fresco dining with stunning views. The quieter atmosphere compared to the peak summer months allows for a more intimate experience.
Families also benefit from visiting in spring or autumn. The moderate temperatures are comfortable for children to enjoy outdoor activities like cycling along lakeside paths or exploring the local markets without becoming overheated or too cold.
