"No air conditioning but the staff was able to get us a fan which helped a lot. It’s an older building but fits the general vibe of the town. Overall, was fine for our stay in Orta."

"The staff were so helpful, the breakfasts were amazing and all the facilities were very good. There is a bubble pool, sauna, relaxation rooms and various massages that can be booked. I had the singing bowls massage it was superb."

"The rooms are nice and clean. However, if you have room that face the street, it is very noisy starting at 5:30am. It well insulated if you sleep with the windows closed.
Breakfast is ok. Friendly staff."

This was our sixth stay at the Bussola as Orta is somewhere we visit regularly. For the first time in a few visits we ate here too. We had forgotten how good the food is and having dinner and on the terrace overlooking the lake is the perfect location to enjoy it. The menu was different on each of the two nights with enough choice for most people. The only minor criticism from last time, paying for WiFi, has now been resolved and it’s free like most hotels. It’s only a matter of time until our...

Loved my stay here, dinner in restaurant was amazing and breakfast outstanding. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Even gave us a lift to train station so we could eat breakfast. Outstanding.

went out to stresa for my birthday as had never been for a short break. easily reached by alibus or train to stresa itself. great location, so beautiful loads to see and do. boats so easily available to taxi you about to other resorts on lake but so glad to of stayed in stresa.
with the lake and views as far as you can see and the alps in distance lit up by the sun when it was out there nothing to do buy chill out, explore and soak up the scenery with lots of food and drink.

We have just returned from a week at the Antico Verbana apartments and can thoroughy recommend them. The staff on reception are pleasant and respond to your requests quickly. We arrived at 7pm in the evening so as information on the website says there were no staff on duty, but the envelope with our keys to the apartment were on the reception desk waiting for us.
As other guests have said, there is a restaurant which is very good but this is not always available due to private functions. ...

Good hotel, large clean room with small balcony. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. Plenty of parking space including a large underground garage. On our visit internet speed was quite slow. Overall very good value!

Everything worked well from the ease of checking in to the upgraded room overlooking the lake to the excellent, responsive staff. The visit was a delight from start to finish. Of particular note were the arrangements for breakfast and the extreme helpfulness and resourcefulness of the members of the concierge team. Can't speak highly enough of them.

I was extremely satisfied with everything—the location, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, and the delicious breakfast. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when I return to this beautiful town.

Our second visit. We brought the family with us. Two young granddaughters loved the indoor & outdoor swimming pools. Breakfast excellent! Hopefully we will return again.

We picked the hotel as the picture appealed and the room met our expectations of something really different. The shower was brilliant! Breakfast offer nice and varied.

Very nice, friendly hotel overall in a great location for those arriving by train. It is a 15-20 minute walk to Orta San Giulio but if you are reasonably able bodied it's not really a problem, we went there and back 4 times in two days and were fine! The room was modern and clean with a balcony and a nice view of the little terrace. The only problem we had was that they had forgotten to put towels in our room, which they rectified immediately when we asked them. The breakfast buffet was lovely,...

We had a lovely stay here and had the buffet breakfast in the morning, extremely central and only a 10 minute walk from the port and the train station. Felt like a very cosy and safe place, even had some board games available which we played

The best area to stay in Cesara is the historic town centre, particularly around Piazza Martiri della Libertà, for its convenience and access to local amenities.
This central area is the heart of Cesara, offering a relaxed base with easy access to the town's main square and local shops. You'll find a selection of traditional trattorias and cafes here, making it simple to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine without travelling far. The streets are generally quiet and well-maintained, great for leisurely strolls.
Couples looking for a tranquil and authentic Italian experience will find this area particularly appealing. Staying in the centre means you're just a short walk from the charming lakeside promenade, ideal for romantic evenings or morning coffees with a view of Lake Orta. It's also a good starting point for exploring the local artisan shops.
For those prioritising stunning lake views and a more secluded setting, the hills surrounding Cesara, especially those overlooking the eastern shore of Lake Orta, offer excellent options. While a car would be beneficial here, many accommodations provide breathtaking vistas of the lake and the picturesque island of San Giulio.
When is the best time to go to Cesara?
The best time to visit Cesara, Piedmont, Italy, is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months. These periods offer the most pleasant weather for exploring the region's natural beauty and culinary delights.
Spring in Cesara brings milder temperatures and blooming landscapes, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking or cycling through the vineyards and hills. The countryside is particularly picturesque during this time, and you'll find local markets starting to offer fresh seasonal produce. This is a lovely time for couples seeking scenic walks and wine-tasting experiences without the peak summer crowds.
Autumn is another excellent choice, especially for those interested in food and wine. The weather remains comfortable, and this season is synonymous with grape harvests and truffle hunting. Many local festivals celebrate these traditions, offering a unique opportunity to experience authentic Piedmontese culture.
