"Room was clean and tidy, shower was fantastic. Dinner was not good, two attempts at serving sirloin steak, both steaks impossible to cut through the sinew. Bill was cancelled. Breakfast was good. Excellent village square location."

"This was the perfect place to call home for the week we stayed and explored Yorkshire. Excellent food, perfect location, cozy. The staff were lovely. AND, it was Alf Wight’s (James Herriott’s) favorite spot in Thirsk. We couldn’t have liked it better!"
