"The air conditioning was broken throughout the hotel. And it was the hottest day on record for the uk in May at 35 oc. At first thought it was a joke when I check-in. The hotel window opened 6 inches and the large window made it like a greenhouse. I slept (badly) with a wet towel over the top of me. It was so hot I could barely breathe."

"All in all this is a very good hotel. We stayed in a junior suite which had a Nespresso machine, nice gowns, a very nice shower and a huge comfortable bed. It might be nice if the hotel provides some moisturiser as my wife expected that a hotel at this level would. A couple of areas of the room were slightly dusty but nothing too much. The staff were great and the breakfast had a good selection. We also enjoyed a few drinks at the bar. The hotel is fabulously located for town and very close to the train station so would certainly recommend."

"its was nice visit. Lidl is just 1 mins away so u can get anything for you. free car park available, staff was amazing and breakfast was too good. room was nice and clean and tidy but something smell which i felt in the room otherwise very nice hotel its has bar and restaurant as well"

"Very clean hotel but looking a bit tired now, really thinking it needs a bit of a spruce up, upgrade in the rooms. Chipped cabinets, old worn furniture. Quite dated rooms for the park plaza brand. Comfy bed and excellent location so would stay again for this alone, Lovely welcome at check in, asked our plans we said we were dining out and were going to a local food feastival and the guy there gave us two vouchers for complimentary drinks he said “have a drink on us either on the way out or on your way home” which we thought was a lovely touch. Until trying to redeem them at the bar. It does state on the vouchers that the drinks are if you’re dining in the hotel but thought maybe that was an oversight as we’d clearly told the guy at reception our plans. We were planning on having a drink before heading out anyway but it was quite an awkward exchange with the gentleman at the bar who was quite rude and dismissive We were made to feel like we were trying it on/making up what the guy in reception had said. Perhaps reception need some training in this or re wording as there was another couple at the bar under the same impression,"

"Staff excellent. But room like a greenhouse. Extremely warm. No windows that open and no Aircon. The blackout curtains leaked light around the edges. Sleeping was very difficult due to heat, lack of air, hard pillows and sunlight. Looks like the hotel is in process of being knocked down. The hotel had supplied fan but can not recommend this place."
