Simply the best
A wonderful cottage, great place to unwind in peace and quiet, where visitors are perfectly looked after by their hosts Wendy and Ian. This is by far the best cottage we have stayed in, across the UK, well appointed, where nothing is any trouble. Thanks guys, we'll be back soon !

An Exceptional Stay
We had a magnificent time in these lovely guest quarters: spacious, comfortable, immaculate, fully equipped – and with stunning views across the countryside. Our delightful hosts, Wendy and Ian, were always available to answer questions or provide information. The property is close to Cardiff and other areas of interest such as St. Fagan's National Museum of History. We have stayed in many VRBO rentals, but this one was among the very best!

Amazing
This property was extremely well equipped , we didn’t want for anything . It was immaculate inside and out and very tastefully decorated . The beds were very comfortable as were the sofas . The owners were very welcoming and had provided milk , , tea and coffee for us which was a nice touch . The property is easily accessible for supermarkets and lots of attractions . A fantastic weekend

Amazing property and location
Wendy and Ian were fantastic to deal with. The place is absolutely stunning, set in a beautiful location… even in winter! The house has everything you need and more. They are very accommodating with our change of dates, and really couldn’t ask any more. I have already recommended this accomodation to friends.

Comfortable home in quiet and peaceful spot
We felt right at home in this lovely rental property; everything was extremely comfortable, clean and stylish. Plus the location in the countryside with the peace and quiet, with rural views, was exactly our speed. We hope to make this our 'go to' rental from now on for our regular visits to the area.

Absolutely one of the very best
We had a great stay. For us, this bungalow is perfect. Everything from the layout, decor, facilities, parking and location are spot on and its peaceful and quiet! We've stayed in well over 100 rental holiday homes over the years, and this has to be one of the very best. Wendy and Ian are easily contactable and are incredibly helpful and thoughtful owners. A very lovely place. We will definitely stay again!

Fantastic hosts, perfect location and spotless property
The location was perfect, the property was very clean/tidy/comfortable and had everything you needed - especially a fully equipped kitchen! Shops were 5 minutes away, Cardiff Bay about 20 minutes, and the Gower beaches an hour or so - excellent all round! We had a lovely relaxing time and was warmly welcomed upon our arrival. Wendy & Ian are perfect hosts and available to help with a wealth of information if needed. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again. Thank you!

Outstanding hosts with a spectacular property
The cottage feels in the middle of nowhere but is 10 minutes from everywhere! It has a real private feel to it and we were very comfortable. Wendy greeted us on our arrival and made us feel so very welcome. We visited to meet up with family and this was an ideal base for visiting them in both Cardiff and Penarth. The cottage was so clean and had everything you could ever need. I could not recommend both the cottage and Wendy and Ian highly enough. Thank you both.

Lovely accommodation
The accommodation at St Lythans is very spacious and equipped to a high quality. Although situated in a small linear village it was convenient for the M4 with Cardiff, Barry Island and many other places of interest less than 30 minutes drive away. There is a retail park about 10 mins away by car with Tesco and M&S as well as other stores.

Totally exceeded our expectations. Superb locaction, very well equiped, great welcome. Recommeneded.
This was home from home for us. Great welcome from Wendy, such a quiet location but only 5 mins drive from a supermarket. Loved the kitchen and fact we could easily host our family from Cardiff for an evening meal on the patio. Comfy beds, fab access to local walks and can't wait to visit again.

Perfect holiday Yun Wales
Immaculately clean house and beautiful grounds, very helpful welcoming owner, great location if you have a car - within easy and quick reach to hiking places, open air museums, National Trust places, beaches, supermarkets... Our family especially enjoyed the birds singing in the garden every morning, the relaxing bath in the evenings, the lovely beds. It’s a shame the holiday was so short!

South Wales Paradise
The property is a perfect place to stay to explore the Valleys, Brecon Beacons, the South Wales coast and the Gower Peninsula. Southwinds is a beautiful property with everything you could want for from a fabulous kitchen to a stunning shower room and bedroom downstairs and an upstairs bedroom and bathroom to delight. We would not hesitate to stay here again

Spent a week here visiting family in the area. Really close to Cardiff but in a very rural location. Everything we needed was in the property. Loads of room. Very clean and comfortable. Not sure we could find anywhere as good as this!

A little gem in Wales
We don't generally travel around the UK for summer but because of Covid, we thought we would take a break in Wales. So glad we came across this property. It truly was a great find, sadly we were only there for 3 nights. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids aged 9 & 12). We found the property to have all you need i.e. utensils, crockery, condiments, a cosy living room, great bedrooms and what my kids loved the most funnily was the bath after a busy day. The grounds were also great, we had access to the back patio and front lawn area. The property is also gated so we felt very safe. Most attractions seemed to be only 20 - 30 mins in either direction which was great. We did canoeing in Margam Park, visited Barry Island, Aberavon beach, Ogmore Castle, and Cardiff bay. This property is definitely worthy of all its 5* reviews as the hosts were absolutely lovely. Wendy checked us in and gave us all the details and made us feel very welcome. So much so that we started considering buying a place in Wales.

Our 6 day break!
Great place, especially the grounds which the property sits on. You could not have asked for a better place for a short break and set in such a beautiful hamlet. A great location for seeing lots of places in Wales. It was always good to return to our base after a busy day sight seeing. We will definitly be back!

The property is fabulous - has everything you could wish for plus additional extras - even has shoe cleaning kit! It is spacious, warm, has comfortable beds and very well equipped kitchen. The host (Wendy) was extremely helpful, accommodating and very friendly - would defiantly recommend staying here.

We loved our stay at this cottage! It's modern, updated, clean, spacious, many amenities provided, helpful list of how to work things and nearby places to eat, and in a lovely peaceful location in rural Wales, but close to plenty of activities and sightseeing. Wendy and her daughter were very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay there again!

We were visiting Cardiff for our daughter's graduation and dceided to make a holiday of it. The cottage is luxurious and perfectly placed for what we wanted to do, being convenient for the city and the coast. We highly recommend it.

Very good accommodation, the best we have ever stayed at, with everything catered for. Within 1/2 an hour of so many attractions. Only a few miles from Cardiff yet so quiet. What a wonderful place to stay
Extremely comfortable accommodation - immaculate - and lovely views. Quiet rural position yet close to the city and coast - ideal - so many interesting places to visit. Wendy was very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely visit again.
