Thoughtful details and bucolic neighborhood
The hotel had everything I could imagine I might need from umbrellas to wine in the room. Very thoughtful details. Charles and the rest of the team were very welcoming. There is a nice living room space on the second floor which looks out at table mountain, the backyard, and the pool. I particularly liked working from there.

Calm beauty in the middle of the city
Riversong is everything you want in a guesthouse: stylish, clean, excellent staff, accommodating, attention to detail, small touches that make a difference. Located a 5 minute walk from Cavendish Square, Newlands sports ground and across Esme St from Sans Souci Girls High School, it is centrally located while also quiet even in the middle of a bustling work day. Highly recommended!

Well maintained premises. Very secure parking and in a safe neighborhood. Found it in a good walking distance from shops. Staff made it a very homely environment. We really enjoyed our stay.

Riversong Guest House gets my seal of approval
This is an excellent guest house, spacious room, huge bathroom, full breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. My only issue was with the internet - is is unstable and sometimes it disconnects, you have to wait for a minute then it comes back. Just have in mind that this is a (beautiful) residential area, in the neighborhood (within 10 minutes walk) there is only a few shops, coffee shop, a supermarket, a restaurant, a bar - which I could not enjoy much as I was staying around Christmas & New Year and they were closed most of the days. To reach one of the trails to Table Mountain it takes only 15 minutes walk from the guest house. I would stay here again in the future if they fix the internet.

Thank you for taking time to write a review. Within 10 minutes walk we have at least 20 restaurants, 4 super markets, a couple of bars and clubs and The Mall. All are open except on Xmas Day and 1st Jan. when they are opened for a few hours. One of our staff could have given you this info and a map. Sorry about that. We have just had fibre cable installed in our area and hope to connect up soon. We have the highest speed capped 200 gif internet thru local provider Telkom but after 7pm the speed drops and disconnects. We have had Telkom out many times to sort out the problem. Hopefully our internet problems will be a thing of the past with fibre. We look forward to hosting you again. Best regards Inri and The Riversong Team

Total comfort and relaxation.
We stayed in the Leopard room. The spacious room had two double beds, a huge couch, plenty of storage, and a good size bathroom with a large bath and seperate shower. It's a beautifully decorated room with patio doors onto the terrace. The Guesthouse, although fully booked during our stay, was extremely peaceful and quiet. There was a good choice of both hot and cold options for breakfast. The omelettes were perfect. I cannot say enough about the staff. Each and everyone we encountered were unbelievably pleasant and good humoured. There is a lovely sense of calm about the place, and yet, the standards are very high. Our room was always pristine when we arrived back from our days activities, and every need is catered for. The location is good for exploring the cape. The city centre is about a 15 minute drive. Camps Bay is 20-25 minutes, and it's an easy drive to the winelands. If you want to leave the car behind in the evenings there is a local taxi which offers an extremely reliable and reasonable service. We took a taxi and dined in both Cape Town centre and Constantia. The Vineyard Hotel in Newlands is a stroll away and houses Myoga Restaurant, which is one of the best eateries we visited during our trip. I cannot recommend this guesthouse enough. It's like home from home. Thank you Inri, Charmaine, Aaron, Adda, and all the team for making our stay so pleasant and memorable.

Excellent Guest House with Great Customer Service
Excellent service! We were greeted by Aaron and felt very well taken care of the entire stay. There are not too many restaurants that are very close to the guest house but if you walk a little bit, there are quite a few options. Free parking as well and very close to the cricket stadium!

They had everything that I needed, and loved my stay with them. Nice and quiet, peaceful. I was worried that the fact that it is a guest house and the rooms close that it would be noisy, but not at all. Service was excellent !

Bucket list holiday for my sister and I
What a wonderfull stay. Staff are super friendly and trained to perfection. Running my own lodge I left feeling in need of a revamp of my own lodge. Would recommend any time. We had a very late check in as our flight was delayed but got the friendliest welcome and the whole presentation of all that was to be offered in the room. Great stay. Yummmmi breakfasts Regards

Nice hotel but cold in winter.

Dear Nicolas Thank you for writing a review. I am a little confused as the date you posted this review is 2 Jan 2019 which is the hottest month of the year. High summer. Most people complain the air conditions and fans are not enough. Did you stay with us in winter - June to Sept? We have heaters and electric blankets. If we know guests arrival time the heaters are switched on in the room before arrival. You can request staff to switch on the heater in your room an hour before you return home each day. We do not keep the heaters on all day as electricity is very expensive in SA and due to power outages we like to conserve energy as much as possible to avoid power outages specially in winter. Tucked away!!
Acceptable standards but, unfortunaly, the Riversong Guest House is tucked away in a sort of backyard of Cape Town. Sorry but safe comfort is of prime importance to us.
