Learn more about Cape Elizabeth

The iconic Portland Head Light stands sentinel on rugged cliffs where waves crash dramatically against Maine's rocky shore. Spend mornings exploring tidal pools at Fort Williams Park, then bike to Crescent Beach where locals know the best spots for lobster rolls.

Our trip from the UK had been planned around going to this lighthouse. I was devastated to learn that there would be scaffolding on the lighthouse , but our trip was booked and we still went. I'm so glad we did. We had a glorious morning with spectacular clouds and the scaffolding seemed to add something extra that we couldn't have got at another time. I just love this place.
