"Breakfast was expensive "

"Our stay was everything we had hoped for and more. The warmth and friendliness of the staff, the comfort and charm of the room, and the thoughtful attention to detail in every aspect, from the amenities to the exceptional food, came together perfectly to create an unforgettable experience. Our time in the Cotswold's was truly one of the most memorable trips of our lives, and we could not have asked for more."

"Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room (courtyard suite) was tired- chairs needed cleaning and foam in seats replacing, the wooden furniture was chipped. The spa was not good, staff were on phones and chatting at the reception area, meanwhile the changing rooms were full.if discarded slippers and towels and leaves from outside. The pool and decking area was also not kept clean and didn't look cared for (paper cups, weeds (nettles) and empty bin bags. There was a member of staff sweeping at the time we were in the pool but he wasn't doing it particularly thoroughly and swept around piles of seeds and leaves from the trees. The spa terrace and changing rooms were too small for the number of people using them so it didn't feel very relaxing. The hotel terrace was a nice, calm place to sit, as was the lounge and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was disappointing. Continental was 20 and there was very limited choice of pastries, meats, cheese and bread. The cooked was £26 and didn't feel like much more than I would get at a premier inn breakfast, bacon was pale, packet hashbrown and watery scrambled egg.fab location for bath city centre and front gardens were relaxing and well maintained. Not good value for money and disappointing for a 5 star hotel."

"The room was lovely, really comfortable bed. We used the spa which was nice. The breakfast was delicious, lots to choose from. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We would 100% reccomend a visit to this hotel."

"Excellent place to stay."

"The room was clean and the bed comfortable. However, we really didn't like the Pub and Grill - small, crowded and very noisy - the football being shown on every vertical surface was embellished with loud and annoying music. We decided to eat in our room - which had its own contribution to add. The only way to order was via an app - which didn't work. As there are no phones in the rooms ( and no phone number provided to reach reception), I had to stand in the hallway to use one of the few phones around and order food whilst fellow guests walked past. It's a good thing I'm not self conscious! The food itself was ok, though being lactose intolerant seriously restricted my choices ( good thing I'm not a vegan!). Otherwise, the staff were very nice and I have no complaints on that front. Can't comment on the pool facilities as we didn't use them (despite paying for them) but that was entirely our fault."

"The downstairs areas are lovely, really spacious and nicely decorated but when I booked i booked a garden room, we arrived and there was scaffold on the front of the garden rooms which I paid extra for as it was our anniversary. I complained to the front desk to change rooms or be compensated. The man said it does say it on your email from Expedia…. It didnt! he dug around online and found a small ‘hidden’ paragraph which was not transparent at all when booking. I wouldn’t have booked the room for our anniversary if I had read that, which was nowhere to be seen when booking. Luckily someone else cancelled and they upgraded us to the city view bedroom. We felt the bedroom was a bit bland, cheap wardrobe and dressing table which didn’t look good in the high ceiling room, tatty ceiling paper peeling, pillows were lumpy/ hard, we just didn’t think how much we paid, reflected the bedroom. Would have liked an unopened bottle of water, but we did have a fruit plate, small chocolates and a card from the hotel wishing us a happy anniversary…. Very thoughtful."

"We were very disappointed with our stay and unfortunately will not be returning due to the service we received. While I was taking a short 15-minute break in the sauna, I left my toddler with my teenage daughter by the pool. My daughter was using her phone only to play a video for the toddler to keep her calm and distracted while waiting for me. A staff member told her not to use the phone, so she understood that photos were not allowed and put the phone away in the bag, facing only towards the toddler so she could continue watching the video. Despite this, she was approached again and told off, even though other adults around the swimming pool were openly using their phones without any issue. My daughter felt unfairly targeted and embarrassed. The staff were unsupportive, inconsistent, and lacked basic customer care. On top of this, the cleanliness standards were poor. The evening before, our toddler dropped fries under the table during dinner in the restaurant. The next morning at breakfast we were seated at the same table, and the fries from the previous night were still there. That says a lot about the level of cleaning and attention to hygiene."
