Pocket Guide: Boutique Hotels Hotels in Bristol

Find stylish design hotels in Bristol and explore this city's bustling Harbourside, excellent exhibition galleries, and beautiful public parks and historic squares. Renowned for its industrial landmarks, this city has been a busy port since medieval times, and is less than two hours to central London by train from Temple Meads railway station.

Visit Bristol's Attractive Parks

Once you've checked in at your Design Hotel, have a slow stroll on Brandon Hill, which is overlooked by the picturesque Cabot Tower. This 1890s landmark was built to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the expedition of the ambitious explorer John Cabot, who was one of the first Europeans to successfully sail to the Americas.

Bristol is also home to the picturesque College Green square, adjacent to the medieval cathedral, and The Downs, where you can enjoy a superb view of the Clifton Suspension Bridge. You can also visit Redland Green, which is an important wildlife haven and celebrates the annual Redland May Fair.

See Blaise Castle

If you're a fan of historic mansions, don't forget to spend some time at the Georgian mansion known as Blaise Castle, which is surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds and is just a short drive from Bristol city centre. It was built for the successful Bristol businessman John Harford, and is home to a fine collection of artwork, as well as a 'mock' castle designed in the Gothic style. Interestingly, it is estimated that this site was inhabited as far back as Neolithic times, when it was used for agriculture.
