"I rarely write reviews — I’m usually the one reading them. However, I felt I had to share our experience to help others make an informed decision, just as I tried to do for my family.
I’ve stayed at Ibis hotels before and have always had good experiences, so I arrived with fairly high expectations. Unfortunately, the Ibis Carlisle did not meet those expectations at all. The hotel appears to be poorly maintained, with visible maintenance issues throughout.
While it’s not the hotel’s fault, the surrounding area also felt quite rough, which added to our concerns — particularly about leaving our car in the car park overnight.
Both of our rooms had multiple issues, including stains, marks, maintenance problems, unpleasant smells, and an overall lack of cleanliness. The condition of the hotel was nothing like the photos online, which feel very outdated.
Given the price, we expected a much better standard, but this wasn’t the case.
We ended up staying for less than 30 minutes before deciding to leave. To their credit, the staff were helpful and offered us a full refund, which we appreciated and did not expect."
