It's a choice to suit all tastes and pockets, and while you're here it's easy to get around and explore the many attractions. West Yorkshire Hotels for Bradford Cathedral

Bradford Cathedral is a real hidden jewel of West Yorkshire. There has been a church on this site for 500 years, and this is the third and probably last of them. Appreciators of fine art will love the stained glass by William Morris, some of the earliest examples of his work, and Ernest Sichel designed much of the cathedral's elaborate embroidery and bronzes. Bradford Cathedral is also home to regular art exhibitions and other events, and has some magnificent original woodcarvings. It's set in attractive, tranquil gardens and makes a good place to chill out following a shopping spree in the city centre if you're based at a neighbouring West Yorkshire hotel.

Most of Bradford Cathedral's architecture dates from the 15th Century, with the chancel and nave built in 1458 and the later tower dating to 1508. The font and sculptures date to that period too, but the main monuments visitors come to see are from a much later period. They include works by John Flaxman, Abraham Balme and others, and there's also a piece by John Bacon the Younger. But you don't have to be a connoisseur of fine artworks and ecclesiastical architecture to enjoy Bradford Cathedral. It's a beautiful building as well as a local landmark, and should certainly be on any list of things to see in Bradford when you stay at a local West Yorkshire hotel or B&B.
