Hollins Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf

"We recently stayed at Hollins Hotel and Spa and overall had a lovely experience. The hotel is in a great area with plenty of parking available, which made arriving and getting around really easy. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and we definitely felt it was good value for money. The spa facilities were a highlight — the pool, hot tub, and sauna were all really nice and well maintained. The changing rooms were also clean and tidy, although the lockers were a little confusing to use at first. We stayed in one of the suites, which was large and spacious with a nice little sitting area to relax in. The big TV was a great touch and already had all the streaming services downloaded. Unfortunately, the WiFi was quite poor, so streaming quality was a bit hit and miss at times. The only main downsides for us was the bed, as the mattress was very firm and thin. A memory foam topper or upgraded mattress would make a huge difference to comfort. Also, the check out time was 10:30am which we thought was quite early. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return."

"I stayed here as it was a 20 minute drive from the airport and said it has parking next door. When I arrived, I’d checked in online so the process of getting my key was quick and I went up to my room. Upon entering, it was evident the room had not been cleaned since the previous guest checked out. The bed was unmade, the bin was full of rubbish and the previous guest’s towels were still in the bath. This was obviously off putting but when I went to reception the 2 ladies quickly sorted me a new room (and kept telling me that the room I was originally assigned had been marked as cleaned) and I just assured them it hadn’t. A new room given and I headed up to settle in. The room was fine. A few marks here and there but that has obviously come with time (faint splatter marks on the walls, marks on the bath etc.) but the room was comfortable and spacious for a one night stay. My real issue came when I checked out the next morning and went to the Centenary Square car park. As instructed by the hotel, I downloaded the Park Bunny app, which clearly states the car park is 24 hours, paid for my parking and went to the hotel. At 4.15am when I went to get my car it became evident that it isn’t 24 hours and actually gets locked between 12am and 6am. Not great when you’re going to the airport. I think this is mainly a problem on the payment app for the car park however Leonardo need to be careful about directing customers to use the Park Bunny app when the information is inaccurate."

"The decor was dated but okay. The room a good size, dated but sufficient. However I was not impressed with the room servicing, it had something on the floor that was left there and the shampoo bottle I used was left there as I had left it not replenished either. The bed was not made properly. I understood that there will be less facility due to three star status but did expect better room attendance. I ate in the restaurant and was disappointed. The potatoes were not fresh. The rest was okay. Adequate and mediocre. I would not return. I did complain but staff didn’t care which is a shame."
