Pocket Guide: Milton Keynes Bletchley Park Hotels

The county of Bedfordshire offer holidaymakers a diverse medley of thriving, friendly towns and beautiful open countryside. The county's close proximity to London makes it a particularly popular holiday destination among domestic tourists. Adding to the charm of Bedfordshire as a holiday destination is the wealth of attractions. Bletchley Park is one of the county's most popular, and is served by a host of excellent hotels in nearby Milton Keynes and High Wycombe.

Bletchley Park

Bletchley Park is best known for serving as the base for an elite group of code breakers who made a huge contribution to the Allies' war effort during World War II. A relatively small group of intellectuals worked tirelessly to gather intelligence on enemy behaviour, ultimately helping the Allies to overcome the Axis Powers in the most significant event of modern history. Among the code breakers was the now world-renowned Alan Turing.

The mansion at Bletchley Park and the grounds which surround it have since become a truly unique tourist attraction, luring in visitors for all over the globe.

A Diverse Collection of Exhibitions

The Bletchley Park Trust has worked hard over the years to create a series of exhibitions that shine a light on this remarkable period in history. The result is as atmospheric as it is fascinating.

Exhibitions today include restored code breaking huts, with actors, projections and sound effects to help create an authentic feel. Elsewhere, visitors can browse the Bletchley Park Museum and walk the rooms of the stunning mansion. There's also a generous selection of cafés, tea rooms and restaurants across the site.
