"Great location, lobby was very nice and had lots of sesting. The bar has great deals for students and we saved a lot of money eating and drinking here, plus it was yummy. Room was big and clean and the TV worked well. Gym was small but it was perfect for me to do a quick workout. Breakfast was good as well and had tons of options!"

"Everything was perfect but they do need to put signs on bedroom doors asking people not to let their room door slam shut especially during the night from 1-pm until 4.30am people coming in and letting their doors slam shut my partner who was on her own in the hotel didn’t sleep due to the disturbances "

"The hotel overall was really nice and aesthetically pleasing. We didn’t get to try the restaurants unfortunately, but they looked lovely. My only two complaints were 1) the room was freezing and didn’t warm up at all, even with the temperature set to the highest, and 2) our checkout experience. We got back to the hotel very late after being out for the night (around 6am) and didn’t get to sleep until 7:30, so we missed our alarm, completely our own fault. However, a staff member knocked (the same staff member that checked me in, on my own at 5pm) and then let himself into the room before I could even get out of bed to answer. As I had checked in alone, he had no way of knowing who was inside, which made it feel very inappropriate. He could also see we hadn’t checked out yet, and I had a DND sign on the door. He didn’t apologise either. I apologised and explained we had overslept and would be 10 minutes, but he knocked again shortly after, which was frustrating while I was rushing. When I mentioned I was tidying up, he said, “that’s what the cleaners are for.” I understand that, but there was rubbish everywhere and it was very untidy and I would never leave a room messy regardless. I would stay here again, but staff should not enter rooms when guests haven’t checked out. It felt unprofessional, and I’ve never experienced this anywhere else."

"Fantastic stay from start to finish. I was able to check in early and head out exploring. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly. My room was clean and comfortable. Great location for the city centre and going to the football. I would definitely stay here again. "

"This beautiful old building is such a lovely place to stay in York. The staff can’t do enough for you and the bedrooms are well equipped and very comfortable. The location for the Train station is perfect and It’s just a short walk into the city. Would highly recommend. "
