"When we arrived we were told that the aircon was not working. I was disappointed but polite. We received a free upgrade on our room, drinks, and given free parking. It had been so hot all week so we were looking forward to a cool hotel room. Would rather have had aircon but it’s not receptions fault so we accepted our fate and carried on. We were given a privilege renovated room and it was lovely but HOT. It had the smallest fan and no breeze coming in the windows. We didn’t sleep well. On our second day, I asked if the aircon was being fixed. I was told it is an ongoing problem so they couldn’t say if it would be or not. Not as hot as the night before so that was lucky. I always try to book Mercure hotels as I find that they are cleaner than other chains and I like the breakfast. This is a lovely hotel but without aircon in the summer it is far too hot."
