"We stayed here as a base for the Game Fair and it was a great location for that. We didn’t really explore the area much but we did get pizza from The Hertford which was good. There wasn’t any garden chairs and is it was lovely weather this was a bit amid a shame as the domino was in the courtyard a fair bit. The cottage was pretty, tidy, clean and cosy. No welcome package was a bit of a shame as this has become pretty standard for holiday cottages and the garden was overrun with bindweed...

"The suite was spacious and well appointed and the location was fantastic - walking distance to great pubs, bars and restaurants as well as Blenheim Palace. The suite contained a King size bed, a sofa and a separate seating area. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication at check-in and we were not told we MUST leave the hanger on the door if we want our room cleaned. So we arrived back in the evening to find it not made up, which was disappointing. We spoke to the front desk but the cleaning staff had left for the day. Jade, who is extraordinary, and seamlessly and cheerfully covers everything from the bar to breakfast, took it upon herself to clean the room for us - and gifted us a bottle of bubbly. Overall a great experience - but remember to put out your room hanger!"

"I was somewhat reticent to book this hotel, due to the indifferent reviews that are available. We were going to Blenheim Palace, and wanted somewhere to stay. The first thing we noticed were how nice the hanging flower baskets were, given the heatwaves we’ve experienced this year. The welcome was very pleasant, they were busy, the food smells were very appetising. As we were early, we had lunch from the Indian side of the menu. The food was delicious, promptly served and obviously very fresh. £60 for two courses for two people with a couple of drinks each. Very good value for money. The accommodation is behind the main building, plenty of well lit parking included. On a par with a Travelodge in our opinion. It is what it is. Basic.. But it was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was recently fitted I would think and it was very efficient. Hot water almost immediately. We had three meals in their restaurant. No complaints whatsoever. If we go back to Blenheim Palace or locale, we will definitely stay again. The prawn and coconut curry was delicious, inspired by Kerala cooking. And we were in Kerala earlier this year, very authentic. Nice people here, don’t believe the negative comments."
