"A beautiful charming boutique B&B in Old Town Hastings, plenty of ambiance! Really wonderful 3 night stay with partner, we stayed in room 7 which is on the top floor - if you are very tall the height of the room may be an issue although was not for my 6ft 1ins tall partner. We chose room 7 as it has a deep roll top bath with a shower attachment. B&B is very close to wonderful restaurants, coffee shops and all the local sights. Breakfast was wonderful, good options for all including vegetarians and vegans. Special thanks to staff members Lea and chef Kendall - so friendly, warm and helpful. We will be returning in November 2026 - booked whilst we were there!"

"A hidden gem, - lovely room, shower bigger than expected, fresh crispy bedlinen, attentive staff, quiet and peaceful at nighttime. As an unexpected bonus, communal spaces are a delight, - lounge and African bar. Did not have a chance to properly use them so may need to come back. Ah plenty of parking and safe space to store my bicycle. What's not to like!"

"The superior room was comfortable and led out to a huge quiet garden. But the decking and furniture outside were rotten. The bathroom had an unstable toilet and a difficult shower. Insulation was poor. Presentation on approach wasn’t great, with dead plants everywhere. Having said that, we had a great night’s sleep and staff were friendly and helpful. Location great."

"Check in was quick and easy. Lady was very friendly and helpful. The Inn is around 500 yrs old so very quirky, but lovely. Very clean and tidy. We were in room 3, which was facing the main road - very noisy. Very small bathroom. Noisy macerator, no air con, but fans provided. Bed was OK, nothing great. Thought it was pricey for Bed only rate (£90). Breakfast was very pricey. Bowl of home made granola £9! A cooked breakfast (and I have to say small) £14! Would we stay again, probs not."

"We booked The Relais Cooden beach via Expedia particularly for its location and spa facilities. We had booked the "Cosy double room" because that was all that was left. On arrival we tried to book spa treatments but there were no available bookings during our three night stay. This was disappointing as there was no mention on the Expedia website that you needed to book in advance. Apparently, guests who booked directly with the hotel enjoyed free use of the spa whereas booking through Expedia there was an additional charge which we had to pay. Also, spa shower not working. If all this had been clear on the website we wouldn't have booked. No lifts and no help to carry luggage. Whilst I accept the sq ft of our room is on the website, it really is a shock how small it is. For a single traveller it might be Ok but for a couple with luggage in my opinion it's not up to the standard of a 4 star hotel. If you are a couple then I strongly suggest you avoid this room. While some rooms have air conditioning, this room does not and it's very uncomfortable at night in hot weather. It would make a good cupboard. The location of the hotel is excellent but it is a bit out the way with no restaurants or bars in the immediate vicinity. Inside the hotel there is no specific bar/lounge area, just a pool room that could be utilised better. There is a lovely outside bar/restaurant area with sea views but the service is abysmal. Expect long waits to be served or get your bill."
