Coylumbridge Resort Hotel

Coylumbridge Resort Hotel

8/10 Good
"The hotel was fine, but the day I went there were only 2 receptionists on duty instead of the 4 who were needed (2 were unwell and not working) which meant everyone who arrived between 5 and 6 (usual time!) had to wait more than an hour to be checked in, even if they had 'checked in online' as requested. This was the case even for families with small children, as well as pensioners like myself. There should have been a 'back-up system' to cover such staff illness. The room was larger than I had booked, but it was upstairs and there is no lift. The bathroom had a nice low bath and good shower over, so that was fine. Breakfast was well-staffed, and the buffet was very good."

"Great cabins and well set out so you don’t look into anyone. We had a great stay with the exception of the mattresses which were really uncomfortable and old in both rooms and the sofa bed you couldn’t use as the mattress was too thin. We had to take a mattress from the top bunk to be able to use the sofa bed. Apart from that it was nice and the pool was good and staff exceptional"

"We enjoyed hanging out in the lounge -- and a delicious dinner in the restaurant. We stayed one night en route to Balmoral. We also did the Persie Gin Distillery tour and tasting which was nearby - and we would not have known about it but for the Dalmunzie website. Their site includes lots of helpful info about the area"
