There are two master bedroom suites with queen beds and separate bath(s) and closet(s), and a third room with two twin beds and separate bathroom. The large, modern kitchen is open to a dining area and a fabulous living room with high ceilings, wood floors, gas-burning log fireplace and extraordinary year-round long range views of the Smokey Mountains, WiFi, flat screen TV and a land line with free local and long-distance calls. There is access from the kitchen/living area to a large deck with dining table and chairs, gas grill, and more of the breathtaking, great panoramic views. There is a fire pit outside overlooking the mountain view. The Barnhouse is located about 3 miles to the entrance of Pisgah National Forest and 7 miles to DuPont State Park, an easy pedal for cycling enthusiasts. There is also a renovated corn crib in which to store your bikes at night. Located less than 5 minutes from downtown Brevard, one feels like in a remote area in the mountains, yet you are close to all that Brevard has to offer (with no worries driving back late at night), from shopping, restaurants and bars, to world class music festivals and white squirrels galore. The Barnhouse is a 20 minute drive from the Asheville Airport and 40 minutes to Ashville and is close to Flat Rock and Hendersonville. There is a small, fenced in pasture for those who need a place for their horse and several large stables within a mile of the barn. Watch the sun rise over the mountains from the deck, kitchen and living room and enjoy the light-filled, airy house. It’s a unique property in a rural setting that is only minutes from both Brevard and Hendersonville. The floorplan worked great for a birthday party I put together for my girlfriend. The house is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. It offers a lot of space both inside and outside and has wonderful views from both. There is also plenty of parking space. The kitchen and den are good for hanging out. However, if you do have children and expected them to sleep in the room with the twin beds, you can forget it. The "bedroom" does not have a door but a curtain so if you wanted to watch a movie or just converse after the kids went to bed it is impossible. Naps for children are also impossible since(unbeknownst to renters) you will be sharing the house with a (albeit nice) man that does woodworking with power tools in the basement the whole day everyday. The worst part though is the lack of cleanliness upon arrival. One of the bedrooms and bathrooms were absolutely filthy. The toilet had urine all over the seat and a ring inside of it. The floor was covered in hair and clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time. We had to go to the store and purchase cleaning products to clean the area ourselves before we could even use it! The shower was clogged and water filled up over a foot when you tried to shower in it. Worst of all, the sheets and pillows reeked of body odor. The sheets had not been laundered (we did find the cleaned sheets still in the dryer) and the pillows themselves were rancid. The guest that stayed in this room had to wash her 2 year old's hair the very next morning because it smelled like body odor from sleeping on the pillows in the bed. We paid a standard cleaning fee but were charged extra because there was spaghetti sauce that the cleaning crew had to wipe off of the kitchen cabinets. Sadly we did not eat spaghetti/sauce all weekend but were charged for it. I hope the lady that left the pink lip stick marks on several of the glasses enjoyed her spaghetti because we paid extra for it! Additionally the "cleaning" crew said there were muddy footprints left on the bath mats. Well, since we took our shoes off at the door they were probably left by the previous tenants and were never cleaned up. And, in my opinion, washing the bath mats should not be extra but part of a routine cleaning. Finally, this same crew said the door was left open. Since I personally closed the door upon leaving, I don't know how to explain that phenomenon other than possibly the nice woodworking man had to use the bathroom and let himself in. ##### Linsay R. We had plenty of room for 6 people, including 2 married couples who each had their own large master bedroom with en suite bathroom. The other two bedrooms are smaller and less private but still adequate. All the beds were very comfortable! The kitchen is large & clean. The property owner replied quickly to all of our questions. This property is really well placed for access to popular trails. This property is beautiful and interesting. Very comfortable for a large group with everything you need.
