"Good central location for Matlock (not up a hill). Park very close for dog walking. Very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Car parking a bit tight as mentioned but ok for a average car - the drive in is easy, backing out slow but no real problem. Very nice stay esp. the easy short walk to all central pubs and shops, after a day walking in the surrounding hills."

"We stayed in the Lavender Cottage for two nights on a weekend away. The cottage is situated at a short distance from the Southwell Minster and village shops. Southwell itself is quite a compact and cute little village. The cottage is really well presented, clean and well equipped. "Lovely small cottage. Just the job for a short stay in the Derbyshire Dales. The cottage was easy to find but we did have some difficulty accessing the rear of the property. It is very narrow and the parking space is very tight. The property is very quaint and has everything you would need for a short stay. Very clean and comfortable. The only issue we had was with the outside area. The steps leading down to the property at the rear are very steep and would be difficult when wet with no hand...
