Beautiful location and view from your balcony.

It is all about the view from your veranda. It is a nice staff, pretty yet basic room, but the best view in the city is the prize.

Beautiful Hotel

Posted 29-May-2016
Pros: Staff were great
We walked past the hotel as we were transfixed by the beautiful ocean view but my wife stopped to take a picture as she loved the flowers covering the outside of the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our boat to Capri was canceled because of bad weather. Jimmy at the front desk took the canceled boat ticket and gave us a refund so that we could be on our way to Sorrento quicker. Breakfast was nice and the location was just the right mix of high enough for a great view but low enough that we could walk to everything.

Great location; special place!

Posted 25-May-2016
Pros: We loved the art, we loved the balconies in each room with gorgeous views, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Location: We loved the location--it was central so that we could walk up stairs--or down stairs--to food and shopping.
We loved Hotel Positea. It is such a pretty hotel; there is even artwork on the floors in the hallways and in some of the rooms. The staff was especially friendly and helpful--particularly Tony and Jimmy gave us great recommendations for restaurants and made the trip more fun. We loved the location--it was higher up in the town and further from the very touristy part of Positano near the beaches. It was an adventure climbing stairs--up and down--part of the fun of a town called "a vertical city." We are a family of 4 and would highly recommend the hotel and would stay there again.

Great view from balcony!

Posted 16-Apr-2016
Nice hotel away from center of town. We use the city bus to avoid walking the hundreds of stairs back up from town/beach. Staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast was ok...eggs somewhat suspect. Room cleaned everyday. Shower was small and drain was clogged. Told desk about the issue and it never got resolved in the 4 nights we stayed. Overall a good hotel although I would not consider it 4 stars.

Fantastic, home-grown, small hotel. Great staff.

Posted 31-Mar-2016
Pros: The staff is incredibly helpful, friendly, attentive. The hotel is comfortable, inspiring, with unique art-inspired decor, high-quality furnishings.
Cons: N/A.
Location: Positano is a good 3-day town. It's incredibly compact in very old-school European way. Laced with thousands of stairs and beautiful but crowded.
Splendid little hotel in a wonderful little town in a fantastic country.

Off-season delight

Posted 19-Mar-2016
Party of 3 adults, in early March 2016. Most of the Positano hoteliers must be elsewhere (ie, shut down in the low season), yet the Best Western-owned HP (Hotel Positea was apparently the original name) struts it's stuff. Accommodating and attentive staff, an orientation to cleanliness, and exquisite location near two of the 5 open restaurants we saw (Mediterraneo, Saracen d'Oro) make this a plus. So, too, the in-room configuration and amenities (First floor...or is that the second???). One can argue endlessly whether a particular breakfast item was stomach-worthy (eggs come in for lots of criticism among hotels, it seems), but as this is a very well-priced hotel, results met or exceeded our expectations all around. I WOULD suggest they update their front desk mapping instructions...ball-point pens on woefully inadequate maps and the employment of "Kentucky Windage" should be a thing of the past. Perhaps they never heard of Kentucky... Net net: wonderful time at the Art Hotel Positea!

Hotel recomendable
