"A Grand Exterior, A Slightly Underwhelming Stay (With Potential) Set in an imposing and rather beautiful building in the heart of Stirling, the Collasio Hotel couldn’t be better placed. Surrounded by cobbled streets, period buildings, the dramatic presence of Stirling Castle and the nearby Old Town Jail, you genuinely feel like you’re about to step onto the set of a period drama—grand, atmospheric, and full of promise. Inside, however, that sense of occasion fades rather quickly. The décor feels oddly generic and, at times, a little cheap—more “Dunelm clearance aisle” than historic Scottish landmark. There’s little to no sense of the building’s story or its surroundings, and the overall effect leans towards something slightly tacky rather than thoughtfully styled. Strip away the exterior and you could just as easily be in a budget chain hotel off a motorway. This continues in the Bruce Suite. While the name gives a nod to Robert the Bruce, the design leans more towards crushed velvet, silver accents and modern abstract art. It’s not without effort, but the overall feel is less “curated design” and more “recently discovered a love of interiors and gone all in at once”—plenty of enthusiasm, if not quite a clear point of view. There are also a few small quirks that raise a smile. A decanter and glasses are thoughtfully placed in the room—though entirely empty, leaving you to decide whether to admire it or start your own minibar. "Perfect location for the west end, check in not great though and no information in room, tv not working. Rooms could be spectacular with some money spent on them. Unfortunately our room was next to the staff lift so noisy. Believe this hotel could be great with some more money, time and effort as you cannot beat the location. "

"You get what you pay for. Showers were not clean, mold growing in silicone and grout. Needed a good clean or bleach! I turned the “waterfall faucet” on and the water completely missed the sink and ran directly onto the floor (because of the design and miniature sized space saving sink). Messy chaos to deal with. Room heater didn’t work or have instructions. Outside, car park and grounds were dirty and didn’t feel safe. Staff were nice."

"Lovely staff. Restaurant is in a building outside the main building as were our rooms and the lift wasn’t working. Not great travelling with an elderly relative. The building was a bit run down but it suited the purpose for one night."

"We booked a family room, it was overall OK, bathroom was shabby. We had lunch which was not good,tasteless. The plates were full when the waiter picked up the plates. I would have thought he would have commented on this. Dinner was Salmon n potatoes,and Ravioli. Salmon was dry. Ravioli was nice. Would I stay again,sadly no, A 4 star hotel should have excellent food x we stay in lots of hotels up and down UK and lower rated hotels have much better food ..."

"No fault of the hotel but when booked with Hotels.commit was booked as a Hilton. Apparently it has changed ownership and we were never informed by hotels.com which resulted in confusion when trying to look up the hotel on navigation "
