"You're not coming to Essen for the culture or scenery (or if you are then you've got different tastes to me) but for the Messe conference centre this is perfect. It's clean, comfortable and the staff are very professional. Got a nice bar, and the breakfast is good. I've stayed here 10 times and will definitely return - highly recommended. "

"Check in was terrible. I wandered around in the rain for a while before finding the reception area. Our key was there with a note, but because the note was in German I didn't use Google translate on it till we found our room. Turns out the note could have saved us from wandering through different buildings looking for our room. Now that we're settled, the room is adequate. It is clean and well maintained. We'll be here for 4 nights. Too bad we didn't get a hotel with a kettle so I could make...

"Excellent for a business trip. My only niggle was trying to claim the 5€\night sustainability reward which was a bit confusing for the bar staff……all sorted in the end as the staff were excellent. :-)"

"Always like to book a night or two here to enjoy walking the downtown area. Conveniently located right across a main train station, easy to access. Surprisingly quiet for a middle of the city hotel. "

"The location is great next to the Starlight Express Theatre which we were visiting. Unfortunately the bar was closed after we’d seen the show although we were able to use the fridge in the lobby. Breakfast was a buffet style and an excellent selection. The room was a good size although the decor was rather dated. Overall we had a good stay."
