Pocket Guide: 3 Stars Hotels in Kitzbühel
There are a wide range of budget to mid-range three-star accommodation options in the Austrian district of Kitzbuehel and the surrounding area. Most of these are cosy chalet-style hotels with a laidback vibe, their own restaurant and idyllic Alpine views. Many of Kitzbuehel’s three star hotels also offer free breakfast.
Where to Find Three-Star Hotels in Kitzbuehel
Visitors will find three-star accommodation dotted all over the Kitzbuehel region, with many in the villages of Sankt Johann in Tirol, Söll, Kirchberg in Tirol, Fieberbrunn and the town of Kitzbuehel itself. These villages are packed with tourist services, from restaurants and après ski venues to shops and activity centres. They also provide access to some of Austria’s best ski resorts.
Exploring the Kitzbuehel District
There are a good range of inexpensive sightseeing options in Kitzbuehel and the surrounding area. The village of Saankt Johann in Tirol is home to a couple of museums: the Town Museum, detailing the history of the village and housing a local art gallery; and the Alpine Museum, located in one of the finest 18th-century buildings in the area and displaying information about the Kaiser Mountain Range. It’s also one of the best villages in the area for shopping. Söll is a modern farming village that is filled with churches and charming Tyrolean architecture, while Fieberbrunn is a quiet village, very popular with snowboarders and freeriders. Kitzbuehel itself offers travellers a medieval town centre to explore, lots of restaurants and the Kitzbuehel Museum, displaying works by local artist Alfons Walde.
Winter Activities from Your Kitzbuehel Hotel
In winter, snow sports are the main reason people choose to stay in a hotel in Kitzbuehel. Each of the surrounding villages has access to many miles of groomed pistes. Some also offer access to SkiWelt, Austria’s largest ski area. As well as pistes for downhill skiing, there are plenty fun parks for snowboarders and freeriders, and a vast array of trails for winter hiking and cross-country skiing.
Kitzbuehel in Summer
In summer there are a wealth of inexpensive activities to enjoy from your Kitzbuehel hotel. The surrounding mountains are not only great for hiking and mountain biking, but also natural swimming, kayaking and rafting, and crazy golf.
