"The Dover is a traditional style small hotel that is located a short walk from Victoria Station. Like many such places in this area, the hotels are 'townhouse' style, narrow historic buildings with many floors and, being narrow architecture, only a handful of tiny rooms on each floor. Some of these places do not have elevators, and the Dover is one of these, so if you have difficulty climbing stairs and/or lots of luggage, you might want to take this into account when choosing one of these...

"I really enjoyed my stay here. It is postgraduate student halls- so come with that expectation. The bathroom is shared however the halls are so quiet, I rarely saw anyone over my 4 day stay. They're also cleaned daily and are very usable. Its very pleasant and the atmosphere is overall really nice. You won't find a hotel in London with a roof top terrace, gardens and cooking space for the same price. "

"I’m not sure why I did not know that I would have a shared bathroom, but it was never cleaned and wish I knew this was the case. The place is very old and a little scary, but the staff there are super friendly and helpful. It’s like a hostel where people live there… full time? Maybe halfway house?"

"Ok so it was in the right location for the activity we were taking part in. I can’t say anything about the outer rooms however our room was at the top of the hotel very hot and stuffy with only a roof window to open. Room above a fast food outlet open till 2:00am. Window had to be open to cool the room a fan was supplied but that was more noisy than the fast food out let. Also as the window had to be open due to the time year we stayed, we were woken early by the light. "

"I had a great stay! Was made to feel very welcome, offered a choice of room and a complimentary drink upon check in! The staff are very personable and helpful. The room was great, reasonable size considering the excellent location and neighbourhood in central London. Had a great night sleep, and a very tasty cooked full English breakfast in the morning. Wifi was brilliant, and the location really doesnt get any better!! Look forward to staying again."

"Joe the Manager provided great service to us. Rugs could have used a shampooing. Kitchen walls could have used repainting as there were splatter stains from prior use. Communal kitchen for free breakfast was on your own to cook or make. Bread for toast; butter; jam; milk; cereal; apple juice; orange juice; bacon and eggs. Kitchen dishes and cookware provided. Communal sitting area for eating or resting to watch TV; listen to music or read. Change of towels on request and no maid...

"Excellent service. I had a superior 1 bedroom for family. Very clean. Sofa bed was already laid out when we arrived. Complimentary spring water in fridge. Enough towels for 4 people which is great. Check out time is 11am. Two t.v. Wi-Fi was good. Hair conditioner was provided. Leaving luggage at reception was great. Only two very small things I would add is no herbal tea bags provided, you might want to bring your own. There is decaf coffee. Also the bathroom is en-suite in the bedroom...
