“An affordable gem in Knightsbridge”

The Rembrandt was a lovely hotel for a short stay in London. Breakfast was ample and of a high quality. The room was a little noisy, with outside noise and aircon/heating noises, but it was clean and just the right size for two given it was Central London. Knightsbridge is a little out of the way of the budget traveller, so location is not ideal, but the hotel is situated between two tube stations and on a number of bus routes. Nice restaurants in the area, and right in the middle of the museum district, walking distance to Buckingham Palace and Harrods. Staff were professional and efficient, and the room contained many thoughtful amenities. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

“Great stay if the price is right”

The Rembrandt is a well-known even storied address in Kensington. It is very close to the South Ken tube and across from the V&A so if that's your desired neighborhood, it is just about perfect. At the price we paid, in late November, for 3 nights it was excellent value for the quality delivered: a room much larger than we are used to in London, large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, free internet. The staff were efficient and friendly, the room was quiet, the bed was sleep inducing. We did not partake of the restaurant, lounge or in-room minibar. Management is very keen on soliciting one's opinion as to the hotel quality - if conditions were less happy previously, then clearly work has been undertaken improve it. This hotel was a bit of a splurge for us but we'd definitely return if the low season rates can be had again.

Area recommendations
Russell Square (Bloombury) is my favorite London location. Surrounded by universitiy buildings and housing, it is a bit scruffy like a student neighborhood should be. Streams of Spanish, Italian, Dutch student groups flow past you on their field trips to the great capitals of Europe. Relatively inexpensive restaurants stay open long past those in other neighborhoods. It is walking distance (if you like to walk) into the City, down to Embankment or over to Theaterland. And while you walk you are in the company of DIckens and Woolf who knew these same streets. If you don't like walking, tube stops and buses abound. St, Pancras and King's Cross are just up the street.

“Nice hotel, great location.”

This hotel was in a very nice area of South Kensington, yet reasonably priced. The room was clean and tastefully decorated, although a bit small. The bathroom was huge though with nice toiletries included.

Area recommendations
In South Kensington, which is very nice and has many mid to upscale restaurants and cafes

“Great Location beware of service in lounge”

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was convenient to transportation, shopping & museums in the area. The room was a nice surprise in space and size of bed. The included breakfast was a full English breakfast. Was disappointed in the service or lack there of received when visiting the 1606 lounge. We would definitely return to this location in the future, but would recommend more of the staff be English speaking and better able to understand the customers and their requests.

“Great Location”

With museums, Royal Albert Hall and Harrods at your doorstep and very close to South Kensington station, this is an excellent location in central London. Our only criticisims were of the noisy, crowded breakfast room and occasionally slow lifts.
