This is definitely a hotel of two halves: the staff are lovely and the rooms comfortable and clean with great views. The location is good, in that it is quiet, and there is a plentiful supply of taxis for local transport. However the public areas of the hotel, including the reception, bar, restaurant, and pools are run down, shabby and poorly maintained. The sunbeds were similarly tired and uncomfortable to lie on. We barely spent any time in the hotel itself. As a cheap, all inclusive, place, choosing meals was a matter of compromise rather than choice. Having read previous reviews we adjusted our expectations accordingly and so we were not disappointed.

Thank you to all staff at the El Greco. This was our second visit to the hotel and we were not disappointed. We had a fabulous time - no problem with food and drinks, and the staff were always helpful and friendly.
Old Tired Hotel filled with package holidaymakers. Badly in need of modernisation - when it rained the water starting coming down the walls in the rooms and the common areas. Not recommended - staff made the best of a bad job.
The best thing about this apartments, was the staff and the area. very quite, with two beautiful beaches in walking distance. Ideal for families. The staff and the maintenance guys were incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to help.
the downsides, the internet connexion was almost inexistent, they change your towels but don't come to clean. the pool for children was very dirty and so they were the pool chairs.
This was our 4th visit, out 1st without children.
The place is looking good; our money is most definitely being reinvested into the complex, with beautiful newly decorated rooms, upgraded pool and so on. Rooftop terrace looks lovely on the photos, but that's all we saw of it, as unfortunately the premium to use the terrace was an extra 20 Euros per day. I didn't begrudge paying extra for our beautiful room, but it wasn't clear when I booked, that there would be an additional charge for use of the terrace - but when I saw that there were kids running up and down the stairs to the terrace, I wasn't that bothered.
Food is great; I'm vegetarian and am used to having a choice of one item per meal, but here, there are so many salad options that I could have plate after plate of lovely fresh food.
The staff are friendly and helpful - especially if you make an effort and try to speak their language - it's their country! Why not!?! Dos Vinos tinto por favor, will get you two red wines and a smile :)
One rainy day during our week in October; this is a great time of year to visit. Weather generally good and hotel not so busy that you can't find a bed in the sun.
Private beach still beautiful, as are the main beaches in the village.
If you are looking for a lovely not too commercial area, safe bathing then this has it all. Lovely horseshoe bay, blue waters not many shops or bars. The hotel is not on the beach but on a road above the bay so amazing views, it's a very short walk down to the beach, say 5 mins but is obviously a harder walk back up the hill. The hotel offers great food, location and very clean. If you are after lively hotel entertainment then it's not the best. We were very happy to eat the walk down to the bay or sit in the chill out area. Good for children.

Views are superb, pool is a good size with those amazing views, makes it a great place for a swim. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice to eat. Joan the owner could not have been more helpful as was all his staff. We can't wait to go back, we only had a few days but felt completely recharged when we came home.
