A 10 day stay in late season when the weather was still warm but no crowded beaches. Hotel staff pleasant & all inclusive was good value. Grounds are set on a hill so views are great but some facilities are on higher levels.
"Relaxing, comfortable and quiet hotel for couples."
Have been to Rhodes a number of times, but this was the first time to the Boutique 5. Unlike hotels located on the North of the island, the hotel is not near any particular attractions; so the "quieter" ambience (apart from jet skis in the distance during day time!) was a real unexpected plus. We had a most relaxing 10 days and were able to really unwind.
With no children allowed, it was a real bonus to have "quiet" around the main pool, which we had almost to ourselves for much of the time (other guests seemed to prefer to spend the day at the nearby beach, at their private pools or on touring the island). The friendly, helpful and attentive staff at the hotel could not be faulted and our room was extremely clean and comfortable. We were happy to "stay in" during the day, but spent a couple of evenings in Lindos (approx 20 minute taxi ride) which is very picturesque and well worth a visit. If you want to "see the sites" then you will need a hire car. The hotel is an hour's drive from the airport. The only criticism was the hotel's dinner menu which does not change, so for a holiday over 7 days it can get a little limiting if you are eating in every night. Also, whilst it has a private beach that the hotel looks out onto from above on its elevated position, the hotel is not "on the beach" - you have to cross a road to get to it! Similarly, the private pools are not as "secluded" as you may think from the photos - they in fact look out onto the beach from across the same road.
It is a huge hotel with a big and pleasant lobby with a bar and plenty of sitting area outside in a pleasant setting. Location is perfect, close to the beach and town, tons of restaurants around. The night club street is 2 blocks away if that is your thing. Room is clean and big, but it is a big shame that the bathroom was designed terribly. It feels like some one forgot the bathroom and add it at the last minute. The room has plenty of room to spare to make for a decent- sized bathroom. If you are a big person or handcapped, do not push your luck. Otherwise, it is a great value. The breakfast is one of the best i've seen except the coffee, which is not good. I'll still highly recommend.
Stayed at cosmopolitan, Ixia for one week from September 11th 2014, arrived lunchtime and was told straight away to go and eat, which we did, on return to reception the lady said we were having to be transferred to another hotel bout 5 minutes down the road as they had a problem! they took us by car and said they would collect us after 12 noon the following day. the other hotel was fine apart from the food wasn't that great. They collected us at 1230 pm on now the second day and was booked in cosmopolitan. Room was nice overlooking pool and seaview which we had asked for. All staff were friendly, food was good, and hotel was clean as was room.
Nicky (think that was her name) was the lady on reception, she was lovely and couldn't apologise enough! she wouldn't say what the exact problem had been but was having to do it again the following day to another 14 people!!!!!!!!!!!! Somebody needs to take responsibility, in management, to stop this happening! Nicky coped with her job extremely well and looked after her clients to the best of her ability.
Despite this problem we would be more than happy to return to this hotel.
