Our room was upgraded and was huge, with lovely views of the pool and the sea. We had booked bed and breakfast but had intended to eat dinner in the hotel too. Unfortunately this proved to be tricky. I am dairy intolerant and whilst the buffet was clearly labelled, the labelling used 2 different systems and it was time consuming and stressful to find options I could eat. The poolside restaurant we tried had a lovely location but again limited options for me. Staff ensured I could eat the meal provided but it seemed like less thought had gone into the guest experience for those with food allergies or intolerances. For example there were around 25 different breakfast pastries, including 3 or 4 which were gluten free but non which were dairy free. A simpler way of communicating allergy information to staff and a little more thought about guest experience for this could improve things hugely, e.g an allergy card to put on the table so you don’t end up having to constantly re explain. In the end, we ate out in Rhodes as restaurants provided a much less complex experience. There were enough breakfast options to eat but limited variety for me. Otherwise go to one of the many more equipped resorts or hotels in interesting parts of the city and area. They have no services here and not even a hotel phone for emergency situations. Expect a very noisy restaurant and pool area right on a major busy road with buses and trucks all day. Have zero expectations for decor or design in rooms. Like a student dorm. Very basic breakfast but friendly staff. “Mountain view” is a hill and view of the backyard shed I paid and extra $60 per night for. :( The staff and owners are friendly but completely inflexible and un accommodating. They grossly misrepresented the services and amenities on Expedia which heavily influenced my choice to book here for 5 nights. However once I arrived they said they didn’t offer those services and some disagreements between the owners communicating whether they ever had them. I asked for 3 nights costs return to me which they repeatedly refused and explained why I booked there. Decided to leave anyway for my safety/ accessibility and book the rest of my trip at the Sheraton for close to the same nightly off season rate and get a stunning view of the ocean and a 5 star resort service. Double check rates on other sites because after booking here I saw it half the rate I paid elsewhere which would explain their 1 star hotel service style. Cleaniness was great as normal however it wasn't the same as previous visits. The breakfast was not up to standard and the hotel itself was less friendly than previous. Lots of issues getting a place at the pool as people were allowed to reserve chairs before the pool even opened then not use the chairs or seats until the sun was out way later in the afternoon and as we are a family it was quite difficult and made no sense.
