This was our last stay on a road trip down to Miami. We stayed two nights. I booked an oceanfront room. Upon arriving, the front desk clerk (should have looked at his name), looked at me skeptically when I told him it was an oceanfront room (after telling me it was ocean view). He made me prove it by showing my Expedia booking. So when I proved it he mumbled and finished checking me in. I said “so do you have one available”. Mumbles and nods kind of a yes. So I go up to the room and it is not oceanfront. It is on side of building - with ocean view. Not feeling great as now I have to go down and complain. So I go down there and tell him that is not an oceanfront room. He says “sorry, I guess we overbooked”. Just felt so slimy that he had lied about having one and just sent me up there anyways, waiting to see if I complained. Made me not trust him and just started the stay off on the wrong foot. He then offered to comp me the resort fee and parking. So at least he did something, just felt so slimy the way he handled it. The room was decent, modern furnishings, clean. Windows were caked shut by paint etc.
The lobby/hallways and pool area are pretty outdated. Pool area is ok. There is a little bar but we didn’t buy anything. Good access to beach right across the walking path. The main thing that was really bad about the stay itself was the banging of the doors! It was almost comical how loud it was. Maid staff and guests opening/closing doors. BANG! So loud!
