The Hotel of South Beach offers 73 nonsmoking guestrooms in a four-story building. Gem-inspired lights glow with room numbers in the hallways. Rooms include a flat-panel TV with cable service and an iPod docking station. Guestrooms are all nonsmoking.

Guestrooms are petite but carefully designed, with custom-made furnishings. Todd Oldham's influence is everywhere, from the skinny closets framing window seats to pale-ash desks, mosaic handles, and tie-dyed bathrobes. Mirrors create space and windows are double-paned.

Beds have Frette bedding with satin-ribboned pillows. Bathrooms feature multi-colored, airbrushed bathroom tiles, fogless makeup/shaving mirrors, rainhead showers, and White Company of London bath products.

Wireless Internet access is complimentary for guests with a wireless card. Complimentary copies of The New York Times are delivered and housekeeping is provided.

“A Deco gem”

The Hotel is perfectly positioned for making the most of the fun of South Beach located as it is just off Ocean Drive amidst great restaurants, shops and bars. The renovations at The Hotel have been done with real style - blending deco detail with, contemporary finish and a good level of comfort. The wonderful roof to pool with its small bar has huge wow factor it's just a shame that the full rod top bar, as well as the hotel's restaurant, 'Wish', are no longer open. The staff were very helpful giving us some great ideas for eating out and the downstairs bar serves delicious cocktails with a discount between 6.00 and 9.00pm. Parking is a bit of a pain with limited self parking and valet at $25 a day - but I suspect that's fairly standard for this area. All in all, we found the Hotel good value for a couple of nights and would happily stay again.

Area recommendations

South Beach - for the fun vibe and cool sophistication but make sure you've got plenty of money as the food and drink don't come cheap.

“Excellent hotel. Quiet place to unwind on Collins Avenue”

2nd time in 5 yrs I've stayed there.You wont be disappointed. Excellent service, location and high quality rooms (some may find them small but South Beach is expensive and average size of rooms is smaller vs.elsewhere in the US), nice quiet place to sleep. Recommend without reservation.

“A little gem”

This hotel is a little gem, within a stone's throw of South Beach. What a great base from which to explore Miami - and the hotel staff couldn't do enough for us.

Area recommendations

Take a walk along the broadwalk, and turn back inland around 15th street for Hispaniola and 17th shopping/dining area. Fantastic.

“Beautiful Rooftop Pool”

The Hotel of South Beach is a well kept deco era hotel in the heart of South Beach. The most impressive area of the property is their rooftop pool deck with ocean views. The rooms are small and the one we stayed in had no view (windows frosted over to obscure alley view of parking garage next store) however the 90's Todd Oldham designed rooms still look stylish. The Hotel restaurant Wish currently serves only breakfast and lunch. We did not order as menu items were a little high priced and there is so much to choose from within walking distance including very inexpensive but delicious Cuban food close by. I would recommend The Hotel of South Beach.

“Would recommend to anyone visiting South Beach”

Can't priase the staff highly enough - all extremely pleasant and helpful. Ernesto in particular was a star - booking us Dolphins tickets and recommending a fantastic seafood restaurant. The building and amenties are great and in an excellent location for the beach and shops. We spent 4 days here and would highly recommend it for a long weekend break.

“Just may be my favorite hotel...ever!”

I've been staying at The Hotel of South Beach for years now. I think it has the best location in South Beach. You have easy walking access to 1st to 16th and can pretty much leave the rental car at home. The hotel itself is amazing. The roof top pool is a beautiful oasis. I think I am the most relaxed when up there. The pool is clean, the staff is fun, friendly, and helpful, and the food is yummy. The best part of the stay just may be the staff. Between Alexa at the desk, and David at the front door you'll always be greeted with a smile. I highly recommend this great hotel. I will never stay any place else when in Miami.

“Nice Hotel, but rooms on the small side”

The hotel was nice, with comfortable room but on the small side. Bathroom was tiny with no vanity or even ledge to put any personal items on. Overall, hotel was very nice and it was relatively quiet being one block off of the Ocean drive, but still close enough to walk to everything of interest.
