“Great first time visitor to Miami”

Being a first time visitor to Miami I wasn't sure where to stay when planning the trip. Having relied on the reviews I decided on the InterContinental and I'm so glad I made the choice. Not only was the service great but the location was extremely handy. Loved the close proximity to Bayside where you can enjoy the live music each night as well as the shops, bars, restaurants & food court. The hotel is also close to the monorail which takes you to the bus services to South Beach. In addition to this the hotel was a stone's throw away from the Miami Heat home arena. [and to think I had a ticket scheduled for a game which unfortunately was cancelled due to the lock-out.] Another bonus was the two minutes stroll to the Christmas tree in the park which I was there when it was lit! Great hospitality by all staff but special mention to the concierge Mauricio who went out of his well to assist me with my day trips, directions and a great recommendation to find my cigars! A great introduction to this vibrant & lively city.

Area recommendations

Bayside with the vast variety of entertainment & eateries especially at night. Live music was played while I was there [maybe because of Christmas] as well as good bars & music particularly on a Saturday night. The dock was also the departure point for the bay cruise which was convenient as well as the monorail to connect to bus services at Government Centre for transport to South Beach. Also for the NBA fans the American Airlines Arena was a few minutes walk nearby. The night views of the surrounding bay area lit up by the city lights also had to been seen to be believed. Would thoroughly recommend this part of the city for all visitors to Miami.

“Mediocre”

The room was a little tired, there was always a wait to talk to the front desk, the restaurant was only fair. Nothing was bad enough to complain about, but nothing was good enough to go back for.

“Convenient location to many attractions. Booking now to return!”

Me and my family stayed @ the Intercontinental 8/26 - 8/28 before departing on a Caribbean Cruise. The location was very convenient to many restaurants, shopping, parks and local attractions. Port of Miami was across the bay and was close driving distance to South Beach and night life. This was our family's first trip to Miami and absolutely LOVED IT! Can't wait to return.

“A Classic never fails...”

We arrived at the hotel in the morning and the staff who recieved us was kind and professional. They gave us an upgraded room which which was great: big, comfortable and bright. The only thing was that because of beaing recently renewd, it didn't have in room safe and minibar. A negative point: the AC's control panel, never worked properly and, despite I asked several times to fix it, they didn't do it. Excelent price!!
