“Too far from the beach”

The hotel was pretty nice but the face plastered on the wall of our room started to creep me out after awhile. The location isn't very convenient - it's not a convenient walking distance from the beach (unless you consider a 20 minute walk convenient). We ordered room service a few times and the food wasn't very good. Dessert was the best - the Mexican donuts and coconut cake were yummy.

“Very Impressed, Did not want to leave”

My girlfriend and I went to Miami for the first time for a long weekend and we had an excellent time at the Mondrian Hotel. We had a standard studio room and were more than impressed with the overall stay. The Mondrian has a very modern feel and everyone we encountered on the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you happen to stay at this hotel I highly recommend two things. 1.You need to go out to the pool and meet the sunset lounge concierge David. He was absolutely outstanding. He was very friendly and obviously took a great deal of pride in his work. When we go back to Miami we will be staying at this hotel because of him. The pool looks out on the beautiful Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. This brings me to the second thing you must do. Go out and watch the sunset on Miami from the pool. It was a beautiful sight to see! The only criticism I will give is that the food and drinks are pricy, but the service is excellent and it is more than worth the convince of eating and drinking pool side.GREAT HOTEL!!

“Great value for money in a quieter part of SoBe”

The Mondrian is a great choice for anyone planning a tip to Miami who wants to be away from the craziness of the heart of Southbeach. In keeping with Other Morgans hotels the Mondrian is a stylish and well kept property that screams minimalism and quality. The rooms are impeccably clean and the suite I booked was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was superb and the rainfall shower was a wonderful way to start and end the day. My only negative in respect to the room would be the soundproofing... I could hear a lot of noise from the neighbouring room and from the corridor. Nothing a pair of earplugs wont fix though! The hotel amenities are very impressive (especially the pool area, bars, restaurant and the gym), although I was surprised that they insisted on serving cocktails in plastic cups in the main bar (located inside), even though they do have glass available (the barman claimed that he didn't have any glasses "big enough" when we asked?!?). Might seem like a small point but when paying almost $20 a drink it would be nice! Overall the staff were very friendly and willing to help, although the shine was somewhat taken off of this upon check-out when I encountered a very stern and unfriendly front desk clerk (I guess I just caught her on an off-day?). All in all the Mondrian is a great choice with fantastic amenities and well worth a stay.

This is a nice hotel but extremely noisy. If you dont plan on partying all night, dont stay here.

“Had a wonderful time”

We had wedding anniversary and this hotel was perfect for the ocasion - lavish romantic decor, beautiful view. We also got complimentary upgrade to one bedroom with bay view. It is quite a walk to the beach, so if you want to spend time on the beach, choose one of the hotels on the Ocean drive. The lobby is a bit noisy and we had to stand in long line for check in. Would not recomment for older people - most of the crowd was in their twenties

“Front desk manager very unaccomodating”

Just took my 2nd trip to Mondrian & had a horrible experience with the front desk manager. I booked, paid for & requested a Bay View Studio with balcony but when I arrived, the manager said there were none available & I would just have to take a room without a balcony. She never offered an upgrade to a different room with a balcony or let me know if any would become available. Also, apparently this hotel holds on your credit card (or with cash) $150/day surcharge you MIGHT occur. I was unaware of this & the manager said that I couldnt stay there unless they took $300 in cash to hold til the end of my stay or on a credit card!!! I never planned on using anything at the hotel that might occur surcharges (and I didnt) & never once did she say she would just put a hold on the room number so we couldnt charge anything in case we did. Instead she said she could just refund me the money I paid for the room! you would leave a traveler to your hotel basically homeless over POSSIBLE surcharges???? I was incredibly angry and frustrated & if my friend didnt have a credit card for the hotel to use, we wouldve been out of a place to say. Also the chairs & beds the hotel has by the pool was dirty. The room was nice & only about 7 blocks away from South Beach but the hotel needs to train its manager on how to be more accomodating & friendly.

“Disappointment”

I travel year round and I stay in awesome hotels in NYC, LA, and Miami frequently. Mondrian South Beach was a huge disappointment! The room service was horrible! Slow as mud and the food was sub par! Icing on the cake my friend left three dresses hanging in our closet when we checked out. We called five hours later upon discovering she had forgot the dresses. They were gone without explanation. The other guests had not even checked in yet. I have left my $1500 laptop in my hotel before and it was returned to me the next day. The hotel took initiative and called me then shipped the computer to me free of charge. Yucky Mondrian. I've never been more disappointed! My suggestion stay at the W... Or anywhere besides the Mondrian!
