Exceptional Hotel Experience

Posted 20-Dec-2014
Pros: Good location, exceptionally comfortable clean and quiet, great service, easy access to transport. Wonderful breakfasts and drinks at night.
Cons: The elevator could be faster. The bar could have a best bitter on handpump. The parakeets in the lobby could learn the guests' names.
Location: Holborn tube is 300 meters away (maybe less). Busses and cabs go past constantly. Covent Garden is a short walk away, as is Fleet Street.
We stayed 7 nights in December 2014, including the week before Christmas. Great location - less than five minutes from Holborn tube station. Spotlessly and relentlessly clean. Our room was scrubbed and placed back in order every time we left it. In 7 days we only returned to find housekeeping in the room one time, but the room was always cleaned and straightened. Quiet: We were 15 paces from the elevator (I counted) and I never heard anyone in the hallway and never heard the elevator. Never heard another television. The housekeeping staff were silent. Best TV system I've ever seen in a hotel. Perfect service from the staff: At reception we were treated like returning friends, despite that this was our first visit. We were given advice on which elevator to use, which wireless access system to use, and which breakfast room experience we should have. I only found the front door un-manned by a doorman once, and that was while he was helping another guest out of a taxi 20 meters away. I had to print some tickets - the concierge desk made that process take less than two minutes, and when they saw what the tickets were for, gave us excellent advice on lunch spots near the attraction. Smiles all around. Candles lit in each elevator lobby. In 30+ years of international travel I have never seen this standard of service exceeded. Dining and Drinks: two breakfast rooms are available, with differing experiences. Both were good. Bar is excellent, and busy at night.

Luxury accommodation - convenient location

Posted 13-Dec-2014
Pros: The very friendly staff.
Location: It is steps from the Holborn tube station and a grocery store. There are several pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance.
The personal attention from staff was phenomenal. Personal handwritten notes, a gift part way through our stay, and an invitation to the Christmas tree lighting party really added to our London experience. We were steps from the tube and only a few minutes walk from Covent Garden and the Theatres. All the staff from the Concierge desk to housekeeping were friendly and professional. The Rosewood is a beautiful hotel. Our room was spacious and well appointed.

One of the best hotels in London

Posted 09-Dec-2014
Pros: Almost everything
Cons: Some of the tables in the restaurant have a sofa arrangement with next table - so lacking privacy
Location: short walk to most attractions in central London
Superb hotel! It has become our favourite place to stay in London. The bar is fabulous and has great ambiance and buzz!

Faultless

Posted 14-Nov-2014
Pros: The staff.
Cons: I am sure if you looked hard enough you might find something- I couldn't.
Location: Covent Garden, Soho, easy underground access everywhere else.
As you turn through the entrance gates from Holburn Road you get your first glimpse of the hotel's facade before you are in the courtyard of a small oasis in the middle of bustling London. A chipper young chap dressed in New England/Ralph Lauren attire greets you warmly and shows you to the reception desk where the staff are dressed more formally but are no less friendly. Your reservation is dealt with efficiently and you are directed to your room with its fresh decor. The bed is especially comfortable. Breakfast in the Holburn Grill the following morning is complimentary thanks to Expedia Elite. It is reminiscent of a Boston diner and the food is a perfect start to the day. Unlike many top class hotels the breakfast is busy with hotel guests and locals, a testament to the quality. The hotel bar, Scarfe's, was similar. Not the usual tumbleweed hotel bar but a buzzing night spot full of locals with a live Jazz band each evening of our stay. When our stay was over we stood in the courtyard and asked for a taxi to the train station but on overhearing our request the hotel driver told us to hop in to the hotel's Jag and he drove us to the station. The hotel sent us a customer satisfaction survey after our stay asking us, amongst other things, to recommend a member of staff. They were all excellent we told them. Faultless? Try it and see for yourself.

Loved this hotel. Stayed for 7 nights and the staff were great. The bar and restaurants were nice. I would recommend this hotel for any business traveler as the bar and restaurants were filled with business professionals. Tube station was less then 5 minute walk and Convent Garden was about 15 minutes. I will return to this hotel next time I am in London.

Beautiful decor throughout

This hotel is an ideal choice if you want to stay at a comfortable yet stylish hotel close to the underground and high street eateries. Close to the theatre district, everything else is a walk away. Staff are very helpful and the bar has a great roaring fire and ambience.
