We only stayed for the night but it was a special stay. Upon check in we didn't receive a welcome drink as I'm accustomed to getting but this was okay. We stayed in the newer block 19 in a beautiful superior deluxe room. Unfortunately our comforter was noticeably dirty with a few stains here and there and it was also ripped at the bottom. What an eyesore. Of course one of the most annoying things about this property was the lack of free wifi. It makes it hard to communicate. We enjoyed the bar that was off to the side of the main area. Less traffic and attentive bartenders like Diorky waiting to make your stay memorable. The pool is phenomenal. Huge so it never felt crowded. We went down on the later side and were able to get prime chairs. The beach is also gorgeous. White sand, blue water. Plenty of chairs and a bar nearby. We got pulled into a presentation/conversation about a timeshareish lifestyle holiday club where you can travel the world as a vip paying almost nothing prices. Sounds good but we weren't in the position to make a decision involving such a major investment and of course with everything, I like to be able to do my own independent research before committing to something. Especially, if it sounds too good to be true. We spoke about the program with Gabriel. He was great and we enjoyed the conversation and tour of vip services. However, at the end Francis, the director, became very pushy in trying to make the sale. All in all, a good time in Bayahibe.
I have travelled extensively and this resort impressed me with the consistent and beautiful design, great landscape, attention to detail and great customer service. It is a very large resort consisting of many private properties and public areas full of restaurants, shops, hotel, beach and yacht marina. Highly recommended for couples, honeymoon and place to relax in luxury.
Very peaceful place, with friendly staff. A humble environment, makes you feel like you're at some relative's beach house. You can sleep all day if you want and you will not be disturbed. Everything is clean and simple. There is a very nice pool which is usually empty for you. You can grab a a bike (for free) and go for a spin around town.
Everything is different from big hotels where I sometimes feel like treated as an intruder.
Very nice hotel/ apartment room. It had a full kitchen which was convenient travelling with small kids. We were able to cook what we wanted when we wanted. It is very nice built with the landscape design. It had several sea salt water infinity pools as the there is no beach. There was no need for the the beach as they put real beach sand.
I made online reservations but they didn't have them and couldn't find them. Automatically, I was checked into a more expensive room. I spent 45 minutes checking into the room I reserved but door had issues coding keys. I asked them to move me to a room that would accept a key card and I was moved to a 3rd room. The rooms were clean and most of the staff were pleasant. The day check in clerk needs some hospitality training as she didn't cordially acknowledge the patrons with a basic hello or good morning.
Home to several luxury resorts and championship golf courses, La Romana is set on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, near La Romana International Airport. Visitors flock to Altos de Chavon, a replica of a 16th-century Mediterranean village complete with a 5,000-seat Roman-style amphitheater. 10 miles east, Bayahibe's pristine Caribbean beaches draw scuba divers from around the world.
