"This was a wonderful house in a wonderful location. Almost magical-views out every window, well stocked. A virtual rabbits warren of thick walled rooms well decorated and festive for the holidays. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Loved the walking paths outside and the playground across the street. Clean and comfortable."

"Really good cottage only about 2 mins walk from centre of Ambleside. Had everything you need for a nice simple stay in the lakes. Great views from the front room over the hills. They’ve just had a car parking space put in which is very handy. Great communication with owner throughout. Would definitely come back."

The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together"

"Just returned from a week at Richmond House, where everything has been renovated to a high specification, which makes it a great holiday home. The kitchen is well equipped with quality brands. All the wardrobes and bedroom fittings have been well thought out. Big walk in shower and large free standing bath. Again all the bathrooms have been fitted and finished to a high standard. "We had a very comfortable 8-night stay. It’s set in a very quite village with beautiful views of Wensleydale, exactly what we wanted. It was clean, had a good shower and equipped with everything we needed, including some kids toys and dvd’s which came in handy. The owner was very responsive and accommodating with our questions and asks. Would happily stay again."

"Great house and well appointed with lots of bedroom space. Kitchen a bit small for 10 adults but expect it would not be a problem for families. Access to lake windermere was amazing and it felt very private. A few problem with upstairs shower but maintenence person turned up immediately. Would stay again"

"We had a great stay here! The property was clean and had everything we needed (hoover, toaster, cutlery etc). It was nice and warm too. Very comfortable bed (no footboard so great for taller guests too). Very pleasant and helpful staff at reception and easy to check in/out.
