I was really worried about the apartment I booked after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor etc. I then took the view that as long as the sheets were clean and the shower and toilet worked what more could you want for a 2 weeks holiday costing less than £250.
To my joy the appartment was clean and tidy, the sheets clean, the beds comfortable, the loo and shower worked but on top of all this the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. The whole place was filled with relaxed residents some old, some young, some with families, some returning there year after year. Of course it was basic but you get what you pay for but the atmosphere of the price made it one of my most enjoyable holidays yet.
It was like a home from home but with the added bonus of sunshine. I can't wait to go back. The hotel is currenlty being spruced up so any comments you read about it needed a lick of paint have been addressed.
Initially when we arrived outside the hotel we were a little disappointed by the appearance of an old, outdated building which looked like it was desperately in need an uplift. However once inside the hotel we were welcomed by very smart, professional, friendly staff who promptly gave us the keys to our apartment along with details of the facilities that we could take advantage of. Our apartment was spacious, very clean and tidy and contained a fridge, cooker, kettle and other utensils that we may have needed. Our view from the room was very pleasant, overlooking the garden, infinity pool and sea. Our room was cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. It was just a short walk to the restaurant and bar. Our board was on an all inclusive basis and thought that the food provided was edible, adequate and fair for the price paid. My only criticism of the bar was the length of time spent queuing for refreshments as during our stay, the hotel removed the facility to pour your own drinks, I think that they need to put things back as they were as this didn't go down well with guests who found it quicker to go to the local shop to buy drinks. Morning entertainment in the pool i.e. exercise classes and canoeing were very popular with both adults and children and the evening entertainment was satisfactory. There is also a private little beach there for people who prefer it quieter and more private. I would definitely recommend Alborado to others and will definately be returning.
