Cracking hotel with old Victorian character.

Posted 30-Nov-2014
Had a 4 night stay there for my wife's birthday. Hotel staff could not do enough for us and arranged surprise flowers on my behalf for my wife. Did not want to leave.

Hotel Victoria

Posted 23-Nov-2014
Pros: Good location, value for money, friendly staff.
Cons: Minor décor improvements.
Location: Central location, easy to get to and good access to all local attractions.
It can be easy to pick faults with any hotel, but we found our stay at Hotel Victoria very pleasant, with good and polite staff who could not be more helpful and found the overall experience very pleasing and good value for money. Our room was large with sea view which did not disappoint. It was clean and tidy and was fully serviced everyday during our stay.

Excellent location

Posted 19-Oct-2014
Very good value for money. Room was basic and met our needs for a 3 night stay, very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was small but clean and had everything we needed. Shower was somewhat dated as most of the hotel, though very clean throughout and appreciated the old Victorian architecture. Breakfast (included on price) was excellent, enough to keep us fed for most of the day. Will definitely stay there the next visit to Newquay as all the town amenities are just a few steps away.

Something out of miss marple

Posted 19-Oct-2014
My husband and i booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary, the room was clean, very large with balcony doors to a fantastic view. lovely staff, didn't use pool due to our late arrival, breakfast was fantastic with great service. loved the look and feel of the hotel, went into town for the evening so didn't eat in hotel, remember to add £5 to your total price for parking!!! We will be booking again, had a fantastic time!

Close to beach

Posted 12-Sep-2014
Very tired, but clean hotel. Needs some attention to brighten up this old building. Booked standard room which was on 3rd floor, very basic with rooms needing decorating. Bed made noise every time one of us moved. No blinds on bathroom window and pigeons sitting on window sill. Reception was very helpful and moved us to another room which was a suite. Showers in both rooms are mixed taps so maintaining temperature of water was difficult. Breakfast excellent. Overall an "ok" stay.

Good location for central Newquay, but noisy

Posted 30-Aug-2014
Nice old hotel in great location, but brings with it all the noise of Newquay, so try to get a room at the back of the hotel. Own parking on site, but you need to pay for it, only £5 per night though. Decent breakfast. Not bad for the price, but be aware of the noise if you stay front of house.

Needs refurbishing

Posted 19-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
Sea view room smelt very damp and signs of damp on walls, standard room smelt very musty. Furniture and fittings very tired and really do need refurbishing. Breakfast good and overall staff friendly and helpful. Overpriced for what it is but then they are making the most of a captive audience and who can blame them.
