Very nice hotel right at the Rocks with a wonderful view of the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge. It is definitely worth spending the extra money to book a room with the view. Another feature that makes this hotel special is the friendliness of the staff.
This hotel offers the five star experience in a superb location. It's close to circular key and therefore has easy access to all of the great Sydney sights! The view from the swimming pool in this hotel is breath-taking!
We stayed two nights at Pier One. The staff were very welcoming and friendly but in a professional manner. We were greeted with glasses of champagne to sip in the lounge overloooking the water before heading to our room. The room was comfortable with great amentities and a view to the Harbour Bridge which we loved. Pier One's location made it easy to walk everywhere (or at least to the train station). The only downside was the hot water issue which they put down to our room being so far along the building but we thought that this was a bit poor for a hotel promoting itself as 'upmarket'. We enjoyed staying somewhere different and a little more out of our price range which made it feel extra special.
Whilst the hotel might look a little tired the staff are extremely friendly and happily attend your every need. The hotel is very easy to get to using public transport as Circular Quay station is only approx 5 minutes walk (dragging cases). My family would readily stay here again and although the pool and hot tub need to be warmer, the view of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge from the pool are fantastic.
Very nice rooms big full kitchen and Landry. Balcony and right next to trains and ferries. Heaps of restaurants in walking distance. The rocks and Opera house.awesome heated pool and spa with glassed in views of circular quay. Would stay again.
Pocket Guide: Sydney Circular Quay - The Rocks Hotels
Hugging the harbour, this district is a monument to sensitive urban planning, with well-preserved cobbled lanes and a Colonial streetscape marking it as Sydney’s oldest district. Locals and visitors mingle here amid designer boutiques, al fresco cafés, lively pubs, galleries, museums, and some of the city’s best restaurants. The weekend markets are not to be missed.
