We have just returned from a four night stay at the Grand Duomo Hotel in Pisa. Great location only minutes from the Cathedral and Leaning Tower and lots of bars and restaurants to choose from within a short walk. The room was really nice, clean and comfortable and had a very effective air conditioning system which was extremely useful due to the very hot weather. The breakfast offered a good variety of food for all tastes (even toast and marmalade), the staff were courteous and helpful and most spoke very good English.
Excellent hotel only ten minutes walk from the station one way and ten minutes walk from the main sights the other! Room was fine and every staff member we came into contact with was cheerful, polite and helpful. Breakfast was good and there was tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We would stay there again. The hotel also offers a car to the airport for 5 euros per person.
On our way to Tuscany we needed a hotel close to the airport as we arrived late in the evening. Though it is close to the airport a taxi is necessary, not cheap but....got to the hotel where the staff were great, the facilities as you would expect and the room more than adequate. The staff again proved to be attentive but laid back the following morning as we had time to kill and did not leave until mid afternoon. They arranged our cab back to the airport and we went on our way. Could not ask for a better start to our Tuscan adventure.

Excellent hotel within 20 minute flat walk of Pisa centre. Good sized room at the rear of the building which was very quiet, ample sized bathroom with shower cubicle. All area's of hotel maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
After reading some previous reviews the breakfast was a very pleasant surprise. Good choice of items including cereals, fruit, bread, croissants, eggs & bacon.
Staff very friendly & helpful.
If the 20 minute walk into Pisa sounds too daunting then the "Blue line" bus leaves from the bus stop directly opposite the hotel every 10 minutes, which drops you off outside the railway station. We travelled to both Florence ( 50 mins ) & Lucca by train ( 25 mins ). If you are planning on visiting this area for a short break then Lucca is a must see location, easy to get to & most things can be seen in a full day.
It is a €15 taxi ride from the airport to the hotel, which takes about 10 minutes.
I stayed at this hotel in October 2013 for a birthday weekend getaway. Getting to the hotel was fairly easily, 15 minute taxi ride from airport. There are bus stops nearby where you can catch a bus to the city centre. While the buses did take some time to arrive, the journey to the city centre was just about 10 mins and from there, you could pretty much walk to key sites like the Leaning Tower, etc. The hotel is located in a residential area, so it was very quiet around and felt very safe. There weren't too many guests at the hotel itself when we visited, which was also a plus since you didn't feel as if you were competing for space, which is sometimes the case when it's full of people. Breakfast was fairly varied, reasonable range of breads, cheeses, fruit. We tried dinner at the hotel 1 night and it was exceptional! Ravioli and the fish in particular. Kudos to the chef.
The cost of the package (flight and hotel) was also quite good and we were really happy, especially since breakfast was included.
My only grouse was that the buses did not run frequently. Also, in order to go to Florence, we had to take a bus to the city centre, then one to the airport, where you got the coach to Florence. I didn't anticipate that but it's perhaps because I didn't do sufficient research beforehand.
All in all, I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We were disappointed in this hotel because they only had rooms with single beds and were informed upon arrival that we could push them together if we wanted to sleep together. The air conditioning did not work well either. We requested a 7:30 wake up call and were woken up at 1:30 in the morning instead.
